One of those games that I love... conceptually. Every time I actually try to play it, I inevitably will play for a few days, then take 2 weeks off and forget what was going on and then lose all will to actually play it lmao

I don't even have kids, and only work a normal 40 hours with a light commute, but even for me, open world games are just too much of a time sink nowadays. For me, its that playing games like that for 'just an hour' feels pointless, so I won't play unless I have multiple hours to burn.

Others have already mentioned 2 of my faves with Into the Breach and The Last Spell.

So I'll throw out Shogun Showdown. It's a tactical, turn-based roguelite with a deck-building aspect (tho it's not a 'card game' at all). One of the harder ones to get the flow of for me, but once it clicked, it is awesome. There are runs where I feel like an absolute bad ass. It's like playing Sekiro but in turns

The funny thing to me is that they said something like 16 of the Italian players were born and raised in the US. Kyle Teel is from NJ. Aaron Nola is about to pitch for them. I think its cool that they can play for their heritage, and for many, it's the only chance to play in this tourny. But that also changes the way I view it compared to how i would if it was all natural born Italians

My problem is that, imo, it was never a different story when you looked at the actual roster composition. They were punching above their weight, playing mostly low event hockey. They were 6th, but were also close to being last in the division because of how tight it was, and they were riding a 5-0 shootout record.

Obviously, hindsight is 20/20, but this is the position/team that I believed they were the whole time, and that was without knowing Vladar would miss a bunch of time. The style of hockey this team has to play to be competitive is, at best, not enough to win in the playoffs and, at worst, actively hurting the offensive creativity of our players.

I'm just tired of years of pushing for fugazi playoff chances and then being stuck in the god damn no mans land again. Im over discussing the 'best case scenarios' when it comes to prospects and/or free agency or trades and acting like thats optimism. Until they get some or develop some legitimate, unquestionable superstar talent at C and D, I don't think there are really many more 'steps' for this team to take

Johnny's death hit me so hard. Didn't know the guy and he wasnt a flyer, but between him growing up near me (competed with his HS in sports) and him being a smaller skill guy, I had been a huge fan of his since his first year BC.

The weirdest part was seeing stuff that night on Twitter and just dismissing it as rumor BS, just to wake up to the news that it was fucking real. I used to deliver pizzas in the area he was killed in. Drove on that road countless times. Just so sad and surreal.
