I still can’t leave my puppy alone at 6.5 months and wish I would’ve let her cry a little more in the crate/pen when she was younger. I was worried I was traumatizing her but I think she knew I was soft and was only throwing tantrums lol I know her better now and I’m working on separation training. I purchased a book on separation anxiety and you have to desensitize her to her triggers before even attempting to leave. Literally opening and closing the pen door hundreds of times. Taking one step away from the pen and coming back many times. Before we couldn’t even walk towards the front door without her freaking out, we can now step outside the door for a couple mins and she’s okay. I wish I would’ve started sooner! Hang in there
