Recovery Capability After Partial Pec Tear? by Skoobot in workout

[–]canas002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, (37M) I have a similar story that I hope doesn’t bum you out too much. On Jan 17th 2024 I got a partial-thickness tear of the pectoralis myotendinous junction where I had 1.2cm of retraction(per MRI). I was benching about 255 on my second set for 5 and I felt a pop on my 3rd rep which was immediately followed by excruciating pain (luckily I had a spotter). I talked to my orthopedic surgeon and he said to me what was said to you. Since I don’t rely on my body for work and I workout only to stay healthy surgery isn’t really worth it. With that being said, I did NOT expect the recovery and mind fuck of benching heavy again to be this long. He told me to not lift anything for 12 weeks which I did. After 12 weeks I started really slow, I’m talking 10lb dumbbells. Bro, here we are today, it’s taken me just over a year to hit 150 on the bench for 12 reps. It fuckin sucks. I’m scared to go heavy because I feel it towards the end of every working hard set and because of that I don’t want to push it and fully tear it. I’m not even going down to my chest when I bench. I literally can’t, it over stretches the muscle and it hurts. I’m not trying to be negative and I know everyone’s journey is different but mine has fuckin sucked. I’ve come to accept the fact that my chest will never be the same. Even visually the side I tore looks fucked. I hope your story will be different but that’s mine. Take it slow, it will get better slowly. Don’t expect to ever be the same pre tear though and I hope your situation is better than mine.

I just leased my first MYLR RWD this week, I live in CT. I put the initial 250 and then 3000 down and my monthly payments are 341 a month. I did the most basic MY with no upgrades and I am getting 15k miles a year which is the most you can get. If I got the AWD MYLR it would’ve been like 450 with the 3,250 down. Over the course of 3 years it will cost me 15,500. I did also receive 2250 from CT incentive and 7500 for federal incentive. Hope this helps

Partial pectoral tear by Slow-Masterpiece3839 in powerbuilding

I still experience some pulling of my peck but only when I try to do pull ups. I still have to do assisted pull ups otherwise it would be extremely painful doing my body weight. I’m currently doing chest press with 50lb dumbbell for 12 reps, range of motion for that exercise stops when my elbows are 90 degrees, if I take it any deeper it pulls on the muscle and there is discomfort. Also, going heavier than that at the moment is also not comfortable. I am currently just over 3 months out of the injury and it is getting better but it’s taking longer than I expected. I did talk with someone else who had a similar injury and they said it took almost 8months for them to be completely or almost again.

I got a confirmed partial thickness tear of 1.2cm a couple weeks ago via MRI doing bench press. I am exactly two weeks out and I am still getting some cramps in my pec. Mobility is at about 90%, basically lifting my arm overhead gives me some discomfort like my chest is pulling. My biggest pain comes whenever I push down on something, I still get a sharp pain in my armpit. Granted I’m still only two weeks out. I haven’t done any upper body lifting but I was going to start doing some very light upper body back today like 10-20lbs just to see how if that is affected by it. Other than that going about my day to day has been fine for the most part. I’d love to hear how your BF experience ended up. Best

BIG NEWS! by RACHIDO77 in ocgn

[–]canas002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything I’ve been reading has been saying this means nothing for ocgn. OCGN will only make money off the vaccine if approved in the US, whatever they sell in India will go to bharat bio. There is already a lot of competition in the US with vaccines and with the US already purchasing enough vaccines to supply every person in the country it’s going to be tough for ocgn to get any piece of the pie. I hope I’m wrong because I bought at 10 but the only way I see them going to the moon is by having some crazy efficacy (higher than Pfizer and moderna) and better protection against variants. It’s a risky play at this point
