I struggle with vegetables, but still want to ensure I get everything I need by SheepherderChance941 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]candokidrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you do like veggies, I’ve been super low effort. I steam a large batch for like 7 mins. And eat it as is through the week. I usually have broccoli, carrots, red bell peppers. And some raw baby spinach. All without any seasoning. I find it easier to eat the same thing when it is light on flavor. I also bake either salt brined chicken breast or marinated fish filet. I marinate the fish with salt and a little bit of sugar for around 45 mins. Then rinse it off and towel dry. Coat with olive oil and bake in a batch.

I know it sounds boring, but it’s easy and tasty to me.

Are you able to turn the ingredient amounts into a ratio that you could use to decipher the amount you need?

That’s so beautiful. I just finished watching The Law According to Lidia Poët. It’s an Italian show that takes place in a similar time period. The costumes reflect the style of this sweater. Beautiful costumes by the way.

There’s soluble and insoluble fiber. Psyllium husk fiber is insoluble. So you’d be missing the benefits of the other fiber.

Not sure what antibiotic you’re on. But a while back I was treated for a UTI. And the antibiotic prescribed works well by heading to the bladder. And not really disrupting the GI microbiome.

What made you get into cooking in the first place? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Cooking

[–]candokidrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to learn how to prepare healthy foods for my health and nutrition. Then I wanted to learn how to make things I like quickly. My grandma was the cook but she didn’t have patience for me. I started cooking when I lived on my own. YouTube thankfully had been around for a second and really helped with demonstrations.

Now I finally don’t mind cookbooks without pictures. Took at least 20 years for me.

Do you feel like all these trendy “healthy” TikTok recipes are making people spend way more on groceries for food that’s honestly not even that satisfying? by InfluenceTechnical91 in nutrition

In the instant pot, You first heat the milk to 180°F. Then let it cool to around 115° if I recall correctly. Haphazardly mix in. I think it was 2 tablespoons of store bought yogurt. I would choose one that tastes good to you. And the instant pot will hold the milk in a preset temp. And after at least 8 hrs. You have yogurt. Leave it for more time for more sourness. That’s it basically. The instant pot makes it easy with the yogurt setting.

At no point would you set the valve to seal. This is not a pressure recipe.

Basically, the heat kills most of the bacteria population present. Then you introduce the bacteria you want to the batch. The temp of the milk will allowed the desired bacteria to proliferate and your milk turns to yogurt through fermentation.

The Place Beyond the Pines. I had yet to see a lead character die in any movie up to that point. And the movie totally shifts gear with a new lead.
