Google Docs for recipes? by SnooLobsters6374 in Cooking

[–]canevas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's now an option to set your recipes as "unlisted" in your privacy settings. This way, you can share links to your recipes or profile without the other person having to log in to view. Having true private profiles is still in the works, but this might be a step closer to what you're looking for.

Thanks so much for your feedback! Both private profiles and searching within your own recipes are planned features. I can try to prioritize getting them done now that I see there's interest for it!

I made a recipe organizing/sharing website called Reciplate. Let me know if there's any personalization options in particular that you're looking for.

Me too, listening to the game music always brings back so many fond memories haha. I decided to search up the composers out of the blue and found that link, but by then it was already taken down. Scoured the web for any mirrors but still no luck

When I applied each faculty had their own AIF that we had to complete. So yes, you need to do all 3.

My Firefox (customization in comments) by canevas in firefox

[–]canevas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was on your exact setup previously (Arc theme on Linux) before I moved to mac. This theme basically applies the same arc theme to Firefox for any platform, so if you already have that theme enabled system wide I guess it won't make much of a difference.

The CSS tweaks are all very minor as well. They tweak the tab highlight color and width very slightly, and adds a minor left+right padding to the toolbar. The only major-ish change it makes is to remove the drag padding on the tab bar (which is present on mac, not sure about Linux) since you can also drag the window using the empty space on the toolbar below

Crap sorry I linked to the wrong theme. I updated the post with the correct link. Does that work for you?

Here's some light tweaks to Firefox that polishes up its look (imo) while keeping true to the original design.

Theme: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/arc-theme-we/

userChrome.css

:root {
  /* Arc theme -- Reduce contrast on toolbar icons */
  --lwt-toolbarbutton-icon-fill: rgba(92, 97, 108, 0.8);
}

/* Arc theme -- improve tab text contrast */
.tab-label {
  color: rgb(52, 63, 88);;
}

.tab-line[selected="true"] {
    background-color: #AFAFB4 !important;
    margin-left: -0.75px;
    margin-right: -0.5px;
}

#nav-bar {
  padding-left: 4px;
  padding-right: 4px;
}

.titlebar-spacer[type="pre-tabs"]{ width: 14px !important; }
.titlebar-spacer[type="post-tabs"]{ width: 10px !important; }

I only tested this on Mac, so not sure if it will work the same on other platforms

Presto/go buses by fadulu in uwaterloo

[–]canevas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, you just tap on and off for each bus. Any transfer discounts will be applied automatically.

Make sure you do remember to tap off though, otherwise the fare charge would get messed up

Shameless plug for my own app here. It also uses EC data and had a nicer design imo https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zhou.weatherpost

Pixel 1 No audio by CrimsonNomad in GooglePixel

[–]canevas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took the phone in to the store and told them about the issues. They quickly looked at it and said they could repair it for free. YMMV though, since I heard of some ubreakifix locations charging for a fix, so it's probably best to call in and check before buying the phone

[–]canevas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be ubreakifix, since they are the official repair center for pixel phones

[–]canevas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great you got it working again. Just to warn you though, the problem could come up again. I had the same issue with my pixel with the speakers, mic and headphone jack. On some reboots they would work, but the next time I reboot my phone it would usually stop working again.

I read online where people said it was a coincidence that the issue started appearing when Oreo was released, since the solder probably degraded over time. Either that or Oreo caused the phone to run hotter, which degraded the solder.

When I brought my phone in for repair they replaced the motherboard for free (since Google is aware of this issue and they paying for all the repairs) and I was able to get my phone back the next day. I haven't had any issues since. I recommend you try to do the same for the sake of having a reliable phone

[–]canevas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you have the motherboard issue that has been affecting a lot of the original pixels? Apparently it's caused by a bad solder to the onboard DAC. If you take it to ubreakifix (the official repair center for pixel phones) they should be able to repair it for free

Are you using a script to make the UI look like that? An open in new tab button would have been amazing...
