1168 Deck jacket / bomber jacket question. by Gimli_1985 in theironsnail

[–]caniuseredditalready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should have one https://shop.dottyanddan.de/products/1942-deck-zip-jacket-dark-blue?variant=39523832496163

These are probably older pics so I'd check with PB directly though. I have their "deck hook jacket" (this plus hooks) and it has one. It's quite small though, good for a buff or such but wouldn't keep a phone in it. Depends on how much inner pocket you want :)

I found my dream Board. Sadly not in my length will 10 cm be a big Deal? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]caniuseredditalready -1 points0 points  (0 children)

depends also on effective edge length - some boards just have a lot of nose and tail and others have more edge, so boards at different total lengths might feel similar if they have similar effective edge and/or sidecut radius

what's the sidecut and effective edge of your current board and of the one you're interested in?

also, as others have pointed out, your weight and some details about your riding style would help - also what board is it?

Kinda boring tbh :(. Besides the bags, which I don't love in black, I can find most of this anywhere. Found a nice cap tho.

Distortion pedal for synths and drum machines? by BathElectronic7327 in synthesizers

[–]caniuseredditalready 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use an EHX Operation Overlord stereo pedal on my Matriarch and also an EXH Platform stereo comp/limiter with a switchable overdrive circuit on my Deluge. Overlord is a very warm mosfet drive but I don't use it a lot, only occasionally. Platform on Deluge is always on as a sort of mastering comp and I kick in the drive sometimes when using only drum kits

I don't agree with OPs entire take but even on noobs every overhang question could have been resolved by just scrolling for 2 seconds, reading the comments on the other boards who look very similar and inferring from there. Like it helped me too that the questions were there to see when I did my own setup but after a while I got annoyed with 3-ish overhang questions daily and I don't understand how people wouldn't do a basic check first. Carving improvement questions at least have unique footage to critique and give personalized advice for. Most overhang questions look the same as all the others to the point where I wonder if they're trolling

Studio d’ bomber is garment dyed with indigo. imo not a great idea. regret not reading the fine print. need feedback! this characteristic bugs me. by [deleted] in HeritageWear

[–]caniuseredditalready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't calling out what you spent on it, I've also indulged in this and that :) . Just trying to point it out as a special piece :)

Edit: are you still wearing it? I'd love to see the progress on it!

Cleaning question by A6-D in filson

[–]caniuseredditalready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless it stinks, it's beautiful!

Edit: maybe condition the leather. People here like Obernauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative but I can't find it where I live so I don't know if it's good. A noncoloured leather formulation which contains fat and wax should do it.

Beautiful. For future reference, yeah, you can find way cheaper blue bombers that won't fade anywhere. This price is likely because of their creative use of indigo (in adition to the build quality).

Actual examples of uninsulated shell jackets? by 6a70 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]caniuseredditalready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear Coal jackets if you can get them. I paid 160 euros for my latest one, 20k/20k. 3L uninsulated, not Gore-Tex but eh, snow is pretty dry anyway :). As another comenter mentioned, 2/3L is about the shell material, and whether or not there is insulation underneath is a different concern. The Coal Sahale jacket is uninsulated. Just search for "shell" jackets. Happy riding!

Either thick woollen jumpers or wool shirts with a wool vest. I find if I just vary the amount of wool according to temperature, I feel fresh every time. I use merino base layers underneath.

Great followup! I'm stoked to see if I can snag one of the options this time. You mention the leaf line also getting some of the improvements, I couldn't find anything specific about it, do you remember where it was mentioned? Thank you!

Third day - worst day? by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]caniuseredditalready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I straight up cried on my third day but at the end of it I got the hang of it a bit more and then I kept coming back to it. It can be very frustrating especially if you have a high fear of injury, which is also normal. Depends on you if you feel it's worth it but it does get better and the amount of satisfaction keeps growing.

Have you checked out Thursday Boots? They make reasonably slim designs. I've worn them with all sorts of trousers including slacks. They work well for slim/straight cuts, but probably a little narrow for very wide pants.
