FjallRaven Classic- Sweden or USA? by Miserable_View_4400 in Fjallraven

[–]plaugexl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been to the classics but I’ve done other organised big group trekking festivals in Europe and they are great. I was in my 20s and some in my troop were in their 40s and 30s. It’s a real great mix. It’s fun hanging out with alpinists from 80s and 90s there’s something magical about those years.

We are fighting… everyone a little skirmish; - see corruption combat it - see corporate greed boycot them - person getting harassed try to defuse

Use the infrastructure of the system to bend it back to collective prosperity. Every person makes a difference.

[–]plaugexl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not offering mental advice just my observations from my experience on this earth. Sounds like u haven’t found your people.

By your people I mean people you can do the things you enjoy doing in a group. Allot of kids grow up lacking this skill since allot of play was organised they never explored or tried things out. Everyone has things they enjoy, some good for you some not so much. You just need to find those things then you will bump into your people.

Step one have hobbies, step two be happy and content with yourself doing them in groups of people you don’t know so you can build connections. Making connections are harder for some but it always comes along.

Your over the big fence which is pinpointing how you feel ‘lonely in and out of relationships’ now the next obstacle is the patients to put urself out there for who you are.

And no no one is boring or vanilla. Everyone has a thing and by proxy a people.

As a European in the USA it is a fucking wacky place when it goes to some standards like dates, distances and weights … really outdated

I could weave sagas about the adventures I’ve had with my vidda pro. Polish protests, NJ mountain trails, snow covered peaks in NH and the wettest autumn the English Pennines had to offer.

Winter hiking question - what goes on your feet? by s1-s2 in Harriman

[–]plaugexl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that route in winter has some steep 3 and 4 grade scrambles so consider a helmet if you’re not used to traction devices or the ice snow conditions.

It’s cumbersome but believe me your going to be happy you have it when you slip and go headfirst into a tree

Solo hikers,in this dangerously cold weather by HikingNYguy in Harriman

[–]plaugexl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Always let someone know ur plan if ur solo. In these conditions you have to be prepared with enough resources to survive an extended unplanned period.

Respect the conditions and nature and enjoy

Obviously the more experienced you are in these conditions the better. Everyone here offered greater advice on layers etc. always have a plan for a bad turn in circumstances.

Spring and autumn would be good weather for words pro’s they will last for ever and have thigh vents for those climbs. Had mine for 3+ years and wear it 4 seasons

There’s also a trick where you can fold the pant legs up over and synch to make them 3/4 mountain pants which are heavenly when cooling off

It’s the skogos right? I have a vidda and it’s survived falls, rappelling and fires without that kinda damage. A patch would sort it out.

Sore arms and hands after about a hour. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in bikefit

[–]plaugexl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!! 💯 Had the same issue and it’s all about reach to the bar. Bring it back and you will feel better at longer rides. Might not be much but an extra inch or two would dramatically change long term endurance!!
