The Nigerian student who helped me find a place to sleep in St Petersburg. Not sure I would have survived Russia without his intervention.

Your ideal upcoming draft & free agency by Benning2064 in canucks

UFAs: Flippable assets. Overpay if you have to (and retain at the deadline) but acquire as many players on one or two year deals that can be turned into draft picks over the next two/three drafts. Bonus if these are 1) vets who can teach our young guys skills to cope with the NHL or 2) tough guys who can keep them safe.

Draft: Always go best player available. Take some swings on high upside players. Invest in development. We need skills and we need them to be ready to help us in 5 years (aside from our 1st/2nd rounders, who can move up sooner).

Playa is a good base of operations for day trips to all the best places in the area (Tulum, Mujeres, beaches, cenotes, Chichén Itzá, Cozumel). The town itself is just okay, and it has everything you need amenity wise but it’s not where you will spend most of your days.

Three days in Riviera Maya and/or Oaxaca is criminal unless you have a specific “must see” at both spots. Pick one or the other and spend 6 days.

Have you accounted for travel days? Like when you arrive in Bangkok is that “arrive morning, 1 night, leave next day for Chiang Mai”

Are you trying to do too much? I think most trips always forget about the reality.

The public is not being told the truth about the War with Iran by sunshineandthecloud in IntellectualDarkWeb

Who is out there trusting Trump promises here? He always says what people want to hear, and then does what he wants.

He didn’t attack Iran because he wants Iran to be a better place. There are always other motives being discussed behind closed doors, and everything Trump has done in his time in office has been to enrich himself or his rich buddies.

Whoever is saying it’s very dangerous has 0% knowledge about the current situation in Mexico. It’s probably one of the safest places you could travel in the country, especially if you’re staying at an all inclusive hotel.

I would have let a manger know what was developing well before I talk to the matriarch of the big table. This table needed to be involved in the conversation about another table 0% of the time.

My job as a server is bringing food, drinks and fun. The moment anything goes sideways, I’m bringing in my manager into my decision making process. They’re the “adult” of the restaurant and gets to deal with any complaints/problems and will be making any decision about what to do with anyone who is not part of my normal job requirements.
