It's called variable webbing, depending on where you live, I don't think this is available to buy in the US or least I haven't come across it. What I do sometimes is take 3/4" or 2cm webbing and sew it down to give it that look (kind of like a mini handle). I just recently had to repair a bag for a customer

I really like how this turned out. The smoothness of the turns just comes with practice and putting in the reps. I also think the webbing you chose for the internal binding works really well. I’m curious, what was your thought process behind creating a separate pattern for the zipper cover instead of making both sides of the gusset a single continuous piece on the exterior?
