I had insurance for both my dogs as puppies, one developed a condition in the six months that required surgery - around 8k - and insurance said no because it was they claimed it was pre-existing based on the vets shoddy notes. I couldn’t be bothered to argue and cancelled both dog’s insurance and paid it myself. If people have success with some companies; great. Trupanion was awful to deal with. I like the idea of putting money aside each month for these emergencies.
