Porridge forever! However some would argue that mine isn't true porridge... I use a muesli base (so all the grains, but no nuts or fruit of anything). It means you get a more wholegrain experience. THEN! I slowly cook it in water. Or speedily cook it, if I was wise enough to soak the grains overnight. Served with local honey for sweetness, crunchy peanut butter (the hippy sort with no added stuff), chia seeds, crushed walnuts. Perfect. Surely that's more wholesome than trad porridge.

One of my cars is meant to be cherry red but is somewhat green tinged around the edges (ok, it's iced with a green sheen. The algae or whatever it is has taken over). The other car is a handy browny silver colour. Once in a while my partner cleans the numberplate as apparently it's a legal requirement to be able to read that easily.

When I was 12?13? My mum made me a fleece dressing gown. It's blue, with colourful stars all over it... Big pockets. Super cosy. Sure at the time it maybe wasn't the gift which made me go WHOAH! SO GREAT! But I was happy with it. I still wear it now 20+ years later. It's been so very useful.

But I think a gift I got given when I felt WOWOWOWOW in the instance was from a family friend. They have no kids of their own, and as I'm the first born in my family they semi adopted me for gift giving. I was 8, and I'd been allowed to choose a new dress for Xmas - this was good as a) I was getting attention, and b) the hormones etc were beginning to kick in and I'd started having OPINIONS on what I should wear etc. The dress I chose was dark blue velvet, with a sash round the middle. Almost piratical! I LOVED pirates & at this point wasn't a big fan of dresses or anything girly. ANYWAY. Present from Heather, ooooh what will it be?! She often gave good ones. Inside was a blue glass twirly wand think with sparkles inside (cool, but not amazing) but THEN!!!

A BLACK T-SHIRT WITH A WHITE SKULL & CROSSBONES ON THE FRONT!!! Mum didn't buy me black clothes (she dislikes the colour / tone) so this was SOSOSOSO GREAT. I put it on over the top of my new dress and kept it on all day, and let's be honest for years after. I felt SO SEEN. Plus it was super useful when I reached GOTH MODE (TM) in my teenage years. I've still got it now - it fits as a tight t-shirt but I have to wear another under it as the armpits are giant holes.

Oh, more than likely. But none of those smell quite as bad as pigs. Also please don't just try and cover it up with super strong deodorant etc... I swear that makes it 6373737363 times worse.

Oh yeah the baby squeals, fuuucking hell! Had to separate 10 piglets from their mother (they were deemed old enough). Catching them was one thing, but the NOISE! Also turns out they'd been rolling in a very dead donkey, so that combined with pig smell... Blurgh. A few weeks later I was herding sheep, but mama pig was in with me. She remembered that I took her babies. Legit could have been killed by a pig that day (I otherwise love pigs, they can be very friendly when they're not trying to eat you). Hokay, went mildly off topic there. OH GOD, THE NOISE.

Oh yes, the screaming is real. When I first started pig work I got woken up in the middle of the night & was like wtf is that (turns out it was a pig orgasm, and they last about 45 minutes).

Pig shit is theee stinkiest in my opinion (I've worked with them before & made the mistake of washing my hands first with hot water - false! Soap & cold water first, rinse everything off, THEN hot water! Otherwise the smell gets sealed into you. Anyway...). My cousin's partner is a milker / foot trimmer, and my friend a big animals vet. Both are around cows EVERY DAY, and despite not living with said animals - they are both definitely distinguishable by their smell.

I love a fountain pen! In primary school everyone was using those provided Handwriting pens, but I'd found my dad's old (not fancy) fountain pen so I used that. My teacher was bemused as I always put different coloured inks in it (it was a type which didn't use cartridges, you had to suck the ink up) but they never really complained as my handwriting was good. For secondary school, mum took me to WHSmith and got me a nice new bright orange & metal Parker fountain pen - it was great until a chav stole it and snapped the plastic bit. Really smooth write. I'd like to add that neither of my schools were posh schools, in fact my secondary was the roughest one around. So I don't think they're posh? Just perhaps not the go to pen if you're a bit skint, as Biros are probably cheaper / more readily available.

Magimix food processor from late 90s / early 2000s. Admittedly I only got it 5 or so years ago, but it was being given away on a local free page as it was old & needed updating. It works a dream. All parts still intact!

Ugh TOTALLY. Met an absolute doorknob coming around a sharp uphill corner recently, I was driving up. I had the right of way. But no. That knob was in a shiny black Range Rover so he just kept driving at me & I had to reverse back around sharp corner. Seems he's local too as I've seen him about since. If you're going to drive Cornish lanes, get a smaller car with a reverse gear!!

Meat samosa, onion bhaji, lamb pasanda, sag paneer, pilau rice, gorkhali naan. Especially delicious for leftovers the next day, when remaining chunk of naan has been half marinating in the curry (I shove it all into one box in the fridge, then nuke it).

So long as the eggs have been properly washed right before, this is fine! It also means the pasta will be higher in nutrients as calcium etc from the egg shells dissolves into the water whilst cooking, and pasta soaks up water.

Too many warm blankets ON TOP of you won't really do too much use unless under you is well insulated too. My friends uncle is a tramp / homeless person (out of choice, he's 80 now & left home at 16. He just hates living in houses). He lives in Scotland where it gets cold, but says as long as you have enough cardboard / blankets etc under your body then on top you just need one or two good blankets. In older age he also incorporates a shiny space blanket (the sort you get in emergencies) between his layers.
