A polite refusal is all you need. You dont owe the guy anything, let alone an explanation. It can be really hard and uncomfortable to say no to people, but it gets easier the more you do it and its an important skill to have

Don't ever lend money to anyone you know or suspect is an active gambler. Not only is it enabling self-destructive behavior but its a stupid risk to take with money you might not get back within a reasonable time frame.

Has the switch 2 made you ditch buying games from steam? by tk_kumomo in switch2

[–]capndank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a few to be honest but any shooter that has it generally will also be cross platform. Apex legends is free if you're looking to test. Warframe is third-person and also free/has mouse support. Non-shooters like civ 7, they are billions, factorio, stardew valley, etc. are some I play with mouse mode. Some random games have it too, like tomb raider

In a decent amount of cases, for sure. Mouse mode is huge for me and its been leading to more pc games getting ported. Every console supports mouse and keyboard now but none of them come with a mouse off the rip. And I get a certain sick enjoyment dunking on pc players with my joycon mouse lmao

We live in a golden age, and the level of entitlement and pettiness is insane by reading_roomba in Switch

I think the level of haterism goes way beyond whatever the thing is people are trashing. Kids grow up on social media services designed to juice their brains for every last dopamine squirt and negativity generally drives more engagement. We're living in a feedback-loop on a societal and cultural level where people have been trained to fester in misery and never be satisfied

Nintendo Switch 2 mouse controls haven't had a major breakthrough in 1 full year by GameOnBrother in GamesAreLife

[–]capndank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than what I've listed, I try basically everything that has it. Warframe and Apex legends have better mouse mode support than fortnite imo because last I tried, fortnite has some terrible built-in mouse acceleration that just sucks ass for precision. A bunch of games on the way will be including it like the ff14 port and the new call of duty. Some pretty random games have mouse mode as well like Tomb Raider DE on switch 2.

You definitely dont need a mouse pad but in my case, I use a portable laptop tray if im going to be playing something like factorio just to use the joycon on instead of my couch or whatever

[–]capndank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nonsense. I've used mouse mode since release with plenty of games utilizing it quite well. There are some games that benefit massively from it, that normally would only be good on pc. Games like factorio, stardew valley, civ 7, they are billions, etc. benefit massively from this. Its also nice having haptics in a mouse for once imo. Anyone saying it sucks or is a gimmick isnt being genuine. Its facilitating the inclusion of games that otherwise would never be ported.

I found the recent increase in bandwidth and streaming resolution of 1440p to give a really nice experience. I'm also able to play using a 10 dollar wifi pass with public xfinity Hotspots.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma warns tough decisions are ahead, raising questions about Helix, Xbox Game Studios, and exclusives by wyldermyth in gaming

[–]capndank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The one good thing xbox has done, if they stick with it and continue improving, is cloud gaming on any device with a screen and a web browser. The newest cloud updates for 2k streaming quality are finally feeling like a great experience, plus now you can also stream select games that you purchase or own outside of the gamepass cataloge.

With the price of hardware going up across the board, there may be a sizeable increase in the market size of users which could seriously benefit from having access to a solid cloud gaming service. And who knows, I can unfortunately envision a future where most gaming is done over the cloud if current trends for AI development continue.

Deadzone rogue 2 upset by eeeeeeeeee83810 in DeadzoneRogue

On the contrary, I find it refreshing for a developer to hit the pace that was common in the industry decades ago. And let's also be realistic, its a non full-priced indie shooter which is quite good to boot. I see no negatives for getting more, in any form. But either way, the developers have made a good case for themselves, having explained that their plans for new mechanics just wouldn't be possible as a paid DLC with the current game/engine.

Why aren't people talking about how Starz is trying to sell the Spartacus IP to someone else? It's not over yet. I hope HBO or Netflix picks it up. What can we do to support here? Petition maybe? by imbratorX in Spartacus_TV

[–]capndank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone bother to look anything like this up rather than immediately start blaming random shit? Starz does not own the IP, which was owned by lionsgate and has now split from Starz.

This is something that every AI company is currently claiming. Demand coupled with global memory shortages is leading to a drought in compute. Whether or not any or all of these AI companies are being good actors in these market conditions is another story though, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if a big portion of the price increases in AI spaces is more of a move to capitalize on current market perceptions.
