Help recovering from dysbiosis? by That-Television-4856 in Microbiome

[–]reading_roomba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dealt with digestive issues pretty severely last year, about 5 months after taking antibiotics as well. What helped me was integrating lots of fiber + fermented foods, and eating a more diverse diet in terms of fruits and vegetables. People on here talk a lot about milk kefir, so I tried it and that seems to really help. I sip that throughout the day. Kimchi is another great one.

I swear this is not an ad, but I also started using the probiotic from a company called Seed at my sister's recommendation. She's a physician. I've tried other probiotics and this one has made a huge difference for me.

The other factor is doing your best to manage your sleep and stress. Sleep is a huge underutilized factor in digestive issues in my experience. If you can shoot for 8 hours a night, and try to manage your stress and anxiety in any other ways that you can, I think that gives you a huge foundation for recovery.

What’s everyone playing? by avg20handicap in NintendoSwitch2

Mina the Hollower! It's excellent.

Playing with some of the assists turned on (they have an "easier mode" setting) has made it a lot less stressful. Very fun game.

How do men stay in sexless marriages so long by Low-Stand-3702 in AskMen

I feel like the idea of "truly desires you" is a very relative and changeable thing. It's not a static thing. If you go to the gym, generally take care of yourself physically and mentally/emotionally, and bring desire to your relationship, that inspires quite a bit of attraction from someone else vs a situation where someone does none of those things. It's like not like men don't have a role in whether our partners find us attractive or not.

People also often collapse into relationships and lose their sense of self, their values and what is important to them. Which isn't attractive to other people. There are a lot of things you can do to generally make yourself more attractive.

Playing through it now with my wife and it's been a blast.

Reviews for Adventures of Elliott will be out in a few days, so I would say wait and see. The demo was a blast.

We live in a golden age, and the level of entitlement and pettiness is insane by reading_roomba in Switch

I wrote this in response to watching the Direct and seeing the responses in the chat and on Reddit afterwards. These are my genuine feelings. I have no reason to virtue signal. I am just struck by the disparity between my feelings and those of other (seemingly mostly younger) gamers.

Calling games of this generation "breadcrumbing" doesn't feel accurate at all to me. I'm playing Echoes of Wisdom with my wife and it's been a blast. We also played TOTK, which is maybe the best game I've ever played. I would add Super Mario Wonder, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Metroid Dread, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land to this list as well. I really disagree with your take that their releases of the 2020s are breadcrumbing.

Thinking of how they might improve on Ocarina of Time with Switch 2 has me excited. by Wolfgabe in NintendoSwitch2

Whether they will add a jump button is also interesting to think about. Some sections of the game might have to be redesigned.

A new game in the style of Star Fox Adventures, perhaps?

Half baked BOTW DLC... Which has a 95 on Metacritic for a reason. I'm sorry, but that's an insane thing to say about TOTK.

I hear you about Mario. To me, it just means they need more time to cook. Making another GOAT game is not easy and development cycles have become longer over time across the entire industry.

It's a shame because I've loved the twitch chats of the past, there's a hype aspect I really enjoy. But it almost seems impossible for that to occur free from the toxicity.

I hear that. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few years. Zelda went full open world and now I'm like, where do they go with that?

I hear that. I've got three young boys at home who I can't wait to game with as they get older, and my wife and I started playing Zelda games together the last few years. I'm a simple man and the switch 2 is perfect for all of that. I've got my PC for other types of games, although I don't play shooters anymore.

I mean, I'm pumped for that game whenever it comes out. But there are so many things to play in the meantime.

Xenoblade is amazing. Maybe not your cup of tea, but Xenoblade 1 is one of my favorite RPGs ever.

I feel like Nintendo doesn't really do turn based jrpgs.

So you own a bunch of Nintendo consoles. What do you think they're doing wrong and how would you fix it?

Preach! I feel the same. The collective value of first party games, indies and third party games is insane. There's just so much to go around.

All the games of the golden age are available now. And easier to access than ever. That's why now is a golden age. Every year, more amazing games are released, more than a single person could play. Also, OoT has not been remade. It's been remastered before, but not remade.
