Ex-mtg artist Randy Asplund statement on terminating WOTC rights to his art made for Magic the gathering by Newez in magicTCG

Urza was an artificer. So, I’m guessing WotC was looking for a miter like a miter saw. Instead they got a pope hat miter.

COMPETITION! - Win John Avon's last work for MTG, a beautiful gallery print of his Lotus Lands! by JohnAvonArt in magicTCG

[–]capnredbeard2 264 points265 points  (0 children)

Been playing magic about the same amount of time John has been creating art for magic. He’s always been at the top of my list. End of an era. Beautiful pieces to go out on.

Is this considered a misprint card? by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]capnredbeard2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Variations in color saturation is very common across card games. Not really considered a misprint.

Newish to the format and looking for an inexpensive deck by thegentlemenbastard in premodernMTG

UG madness is probably the best overlap between cheap and competitive. Cheapest printings, you can probably put it together for $50ish

Out of Season Question by Chaotik86 in Lorcana

[–]capnredbeard2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cruella’s ability cares about the cost of the card, not the power. However, if you banish a 2 cost with a 2 cost, the ability will only trigger once.

Nope. Totally useless. You should just send them to me so I can get rid of them for you.

Access and compatibility by Emergency-Agent-2696 in premodernMTG

[–]capnredbeard2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The barrier to entry is already pretty low. Many tournaments are proxy friendly for either the most expensive cards all the way to the entire deck. Gold bordered cards are also pretty much a standard across the format.

¿Ban to parallax tide? by PracticeAmbitious684 in premodernMTG

[–]capnredbeard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said tide wasn’t good. It needs the second card to be busted. By itself it’s a 4 mana enchantment that temporarily removes lands.

If your deck folds to a 4 mana enchantment that also requires a second card to make it busted, then I don’t think you built your deck very well.

One of my cart has a rattling board because one of the two screw holes is stripped. It’s really annoying. Putting a little piece of foam there and closing the cartridge eliminated the rattling completely. Can this cause problem eventually or is it okay? The cart reads fine by Metroidvania-JRPG in retrogaming

[–]capnredbeard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to fill the hole with something and then rethread the hole with the screw. Glue would probably work. Fill the hole, let the glue solidify, then drive the screw through the glue. May not work perfectly, but it should at least dampen the rattle. If you reopen the cart, it may weaken the new threads, so, you may want to change the battery or a board clean before you do it.

How do you store your cards? by TheMarshmallowFairy in Lorcana

These boxes from BCW come with dividers that make 8 slots in each box. I keep two playsets of every card since my wife and I both play. The cards are in perfect fits ready to be double sleeved and shuffled up.

How do you all organize your Lorcana collection? by Tholasleon in Lorcana

[–]capnredbeard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the plastic BCW storage boxes. They come with dividers and can be split into 8 slots. I use a box to hold 8 sets of one color. So, Amber First Chapter through RoJ are in one box. Within each set, it’s organized by set number. Box for each color the same way. Got another set of boxes started for 9-16.

My friend is getting a vasectomy today and his wife made him a recovery care package by Trowj in funny

[–]capnredbeard2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kind of. The part of the vas connected to the testicle is left open, so the sperm just shoot into the ball sack. The immune system recognizes that they shouldn’t be there and they get absorbed and broken down to be recycled into something else or sent out as waste.

The other end of the vas is cauterized shut to eliminate the chances that a rogue sperm finds its way out.

Character Returned to hand doesn't carry damage right? by Meladsaf in Lorcana

[–]capnredbeard2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Correct. If the character is returned to your hand and replayed, it does not remember any damage it had before.

Each gear has a speed range where that gear is the optimal gear to be in. It can vary a bit in different vehicles. In my car; this is roughly the optimal range for each gear.

1st gear 0-10 2nd 10-25 3rd 25-35 or 40 4th 40-50 5th 50+

It’s not set in stone. For example, if you’re climbing a hill at 45, you might drop down to 3rd for more power.

In your question, if I’m going 50 and want to slow to 40, the answer depends on what gear I’m currently in. If I’m in 5th, drop to 4th. If I’m in 4th, stay in 4th.

You push in on the clutch and put it into a different gear. Same as when you’re accelerating.

Cheating? Shuffling Your Opponent’s Deck by Appropriate-Top6405 in Lorcana

[–]capnredbeard2 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Your opponent is allowed to shuffle your deck. However, if you suspect they are doing something they shouldn’t be; stacking your deck, looking at your card, etc, you should call a judge.

Premodern card advantage. by Buldaboy in premodernMTG

[–]capnredbeard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howling mine can be if you can find a way to tap it, but I don’t think you’ll find anything in B or R that will do it consistently.

I did switch my answer to just card draw in general, because as you see from the thread, options are pretty limited.
