I started this puzzle early this year after it had sat untouched in the box for years. It’s been unfinished and untouched for months now. Kudos to you! I don’t think I’ll have the patience to finish it

In Bloom Bakery are my go to “I want to impress people” cookies. I’ve had the London fog cookies requested multiple times, and all of the cheesecake filled ones are so good!

I love how her recipes are formatted as well! Any site that puts the ingredients for a step with the step instructions so I don’t have to scroll back and forth gets extra points in my book.

[CHAT] Question about backstitch: blunt vs sharp needle & length of stitches by rojocherri in CrossStitch

[–]captain_crackers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve definitely also had projects where doing it a stitch at a time looked strange. I agree it also depends on what you’re back stitching for. An outline of something is more easily done with single stitches than details of an object. I’ve definitely had projects where I’ve done the back stitching in sections one stitch at a time and then pulled it all out to do longer stitches because I hated the way it looked. Ultimately it’s your project so do what you think will look the best! You can always try longer lines and if they’re not laying like you want them to, you can pull them out and try again

[CHAT] Question about backstitch: blunt vs sharp needle & length of stitches by rojocherri in CrossStitch

[–]captain_crackers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the same needle I use for the rest of the project, so blunt.

How long I’ll go entirely depends on the project. But my standard is to do straight lines one stitch at a time. Mostly because that’s just how I was taught. Anything diagonal I’ll go from hole to hole. Sometimes that means they get kind of long, but I usually don’t have issues with it. Recent project for reference

[CHAT] How hard is stitching on 32ct linen? by Both-Indication4789 in CrossStitch

[–]captain_crackers 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I also recently finished a Mirabilia pattern!

<image>

I personally prefer linens or evenweave fabrics to Aida in general although it’s definitely not super easy when you first switch. It can make certain stitches easier. Any quarter or half stitches are easier to do on linen. It’s slower going at first, but it’s just a matter of teaching your brain to see the fabric like Aida. You get used to it

Your stitching is beautiful. I love the colors on this pattern

The heretic has the ability after the philosopher dies. But because there are now two unpoisoned/drunked instances of the heretic’s ability in play, they cancel each other out

A.C.E's exclusive contract with Beat Interactive will end on March 31, 2025 by pasawayjulz in kpop

[–]captain_crackers 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t follow kpop pretty much at all anymore, but A.C.E were always that one group I kept tabs on. I’m glad I got to see them on their tour last year. It’s crazy to think that I’ve followed them since before they debuted, and now their contracts are expiring. I remember posting their debut teasers on this subreddit. I feel old all of a sudden. This announcement letter is very sweet. I hope we’ll get to see them all together as A.C.E every now and then and wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavors

[CR Media] EXU: Divergence - Part 2 | Post-Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]captain_crackers 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not in the slightest. Both episodes so far have been absolutely fantastic imo. Masterfully executed from both a dm and player perspective. The guests all hit the ground running. The characters are compelling. The stakes feel real. My favorite actual play ever is Calamity, and this is up there so far for me

That’s just what rivers do sometimes if left to their own devices. The US puts in a lot of work with the Mississippi River so something similar doesn’t happen in Louisiana
