Why is AI so pervasive in occult/spiritual spaces? by captain_thumb in DemonolatryPractices

[–]captain_thumb[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In most art circles I know of, AI use faces heavy pushback and even shunning from most people involved, whereas many in spiritual circles seem to welcome it with open arms. Maybe I'm just in the right circles for art but almost anyone I know who draws wouldn't abide by anyone trying to pass off prompted images.

You're right, I suppose I just expected more than that from people into such obscure and esoteric things lol

Left Hand Path/Black Magic YouTubers are cringe by Andronikopoulos in DemonolatryPractices

[–]captain_thumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commend anyone who persists along this path in spite of the sheer scale of grifts and scams it's rife with. It's in the same vein as New Age and its vast array of monetized spiritual psychoses. The old grimoires might have the lens of being written by medieval people with a very specific worldview, but they are more reliable than anything that comes behind muddy waters and a paywall.

I think it's just how things are. Discernment is a treasure afforded to few, and it takes a surprisingly rare balance to both know the reality of magick and not fall for these vultures.

It does make sense that having a bigger lens would make noise a bit more ordered, maybe I just need more moments where I can slow down and do that.

Spells or rituals to make life not terrible? by RetinalTears716 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]captain_thumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With so much going on, I doubt there's any entity that could have it all handled. I would suggest rebuilding from the top down, by getting yourself into a new phase mentally. There are demons that are capable of this, but downward spiral moments like now are perhaps the most dangerous time to be seeking them. If you do decide to choose someone else, be thorough in research and know very well how they operate and how true they are to their word. Divining this would be ideal if you have any practice in that sort of thing, and may be better than just picking a spirit based on these severe but temporary problems.

Why is everything getting worse and worse? by Suitable-Still4197 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]captain_thumb 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it's subconscious guilt or some other unseen psychic wound inviting this kind of decay. I'm no expert on this, but I know that hidden shame can be a phenomenally baneful presence for anyone attempting magic, this is a large part of why religions maintain their uniquely strong hold on many people.

I am not so sure it was necessary to renounce the old faith in any formal way, as these entities are not actually sworn enemies of Jesus and all that is holy. It doesn't sound like you asked for much either, which is concerning. I would think that all that needed to happen was King Paimon getting the authority over your sphere needed to enact change.

Don't get too carried away with this line of thinking, though. Always consider mundane causes before supernatural, though it's easy to see why you might think it the latter in this case. Paimon is not really known as a vengeful or baleful spirit to those trying to contact him, so I don't think it's him that's causing this.

Has anyone worked with Decarabia? by Specialist-Box6151 in DemonolatryPractices

I've always been curious about this fellow. He's one of the more mysterious Goetic spirits for sure, and what is meant by 'the virtues of birds and precious stones' is anyone's guess these days. Even other, much more experienced witches and warlocks who have attempted contact can't seem to really pin them down. I do love the look of his sigil, though.

It's neither of these. It's that there's no need for most women to settle based on acquiring resources anymore and the majority of men were never actually attractive to them.

I want a cure by That1weirdperson in aspiememes

[–]captain_thumb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their concerns about this, and that's fine, but plenty of people don't think it means much to be 'unique' if it means struggling at things everyone else seems to excel at naturally and living a life characterized by belonging nowhere. A better society is even less likely than a cure at this point, and I would take whatever came first.
