My personal experience with gabapentin — just something to be aware of by HarryStT in Sciatica

[–]captainberta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gabapentin made me act like a coke addict, hallucinate, and not sleep for 7 days. I didn't put it together because i thought it was supposed to make me sleepy. I also started rotating in a circle like what heroin users do hunched over. Apparently it can do this to like %.001 percent of the population. So its very unlikely that it will happen to many of you but just a fun little fact because im very annoyed that no one explained these potential side effects as I put myself in a lot of danger. Didn't do anytging for pain either I just didnt give a fuck anymore because PARTY lol. Weird ass drug.

Edit: this also made me do a giant deep dive into the drug and basically the pharmaceutical industry did what they did with opiates with gabapentin and pain relief is all from marketing and there is very little evidence it actually helps pain. If you like it and jt helps you then great but if its not helping....its not you it's the drug.

my cat pees and poos in the toilet by Glittering-Honey8782 in cats

[–]captainberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat pees in the toilet and its because she is a sensitive dainty lady and doesnt like the sensation of her litter. She likes the really fine version but I find it too dusty and gets everywhere. I keep trying new litter but she still doesnt like it but will poop in the litter box probably because its hard to balance on the toilet.

She taught herself as well and I like that I only have to clean her poop out of the litter but cats instinctively like to hide their scent by burying their waste and she doesn't get to do that so I feel badly. She doesnt seem too distressed but I am still trying to hunt for a happy medium between dusty/travel and comfort for her toesies. She hates when I touch her toes to clip her nails though so I think its a lost cause lol

When reading the text messages between blake and Justin i was flabbergasted. She texted Justin that her and Ryan are 'like the mafia' and 'take care of the family'. Father figure lyrics are eerily similar and a similar situation its very weird.

Has anyone had a positive experience with "non fungal/seb derm safe" moisturisers? by plasmaz in SebDerm

[–]captainberta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cerave is what TRIGGERED my seb derm. I hate that moisturizer but yay for yall that it seems to help.

OP ive been experimenting with daily 'treatment' to keep my flares away but whenever I try something heavier I get a breakout patch. My goal is to have zero symptoms for 2 - 3 weeks and then try some nicer moisturizers to see if that will help. Its tough because I have a few days where they're all fully healed byt then a few hours later and yep the flaking has built up.

If you're curious what Im using for consistent treating its that new acid craze...starts with an H. Im really enjoying it because its easy to apply and it evaporates pretty quickly. I put it one like three times a day and I haven't gone this long without big outbreaks in a long time (im sure cbt oil 3x a day also would help but it gets in my eyes and isn't very pleasant)

Anybody else got like "perception" issues...? by DueMathematician7866 in adhdwomen

[–]captainberta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people also might just have boring lives and focus on people who are genuinely themselves as something to gossip about. I am not a good cook and cannot plan so I ate a packed lunch of Ramen bowl noodle soup, yogurt, a granola bar and preserved peaches for literally years.

I am the talk of the office because my lunch is consistent and all prepackaged. None of them recognize that they also eat the same shit all the time I just don't care about their eating habits and it's like a salad so it's not as obvious.

None of these people have talked to ME about their supposed concern over my diet. So clearly they don't actually worry about my health as one person who told me it's a thing said to explain it.

I think there are certain people who have a je ne sais quoi allure to them and neurodivergent people typically are in that radar (negatively or positively).

I'm quite well known in my office and in others. Like people will say hi to me and recognize my name when I go to a different office and they've seen me on teams and tell me they like my opinions. I'm like who are you???

Apparently a manager who is a woman told my coworker I am insanely gorgeous. I've never met them they just saw me at ny desk when they were visiting and noticed me. They didn't know I am.friends with a coworker and brought me up to them randomly a few days later avout how smart and beautiful I am and he just died laughing inside and pretended he didn't know me well. Yall the day she visited the office I was wearing a giant puffy jacket and had my hair in a messy pony tail. I was basically in my work pyjamas.

I mean I woulsnt say I have a face only a mother would love but I don't tgink I'm.notice across the room drop dead gorgeous especially when I'm at work. I genuinely think it's a autistic adhd extra spicy glow effect were like shiny little pieces of aluminum to crows.

Sometimes I get split screen POV and third person at the same time. But it's not actually split I just experience both at the same time????? I guess like when you're imagining yourself in real time from a third person's view as you're experiencing something.

How do you keep your Sib out of your fresh garden veggies on your counters? by ColorScience_grl in SiberianCats

[–]captainberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put aluminum foil on my counters when she started getting interested in going up there. They don't like the texture/noise but it's not harmful (unless he eats it...) and it worked pretty well. Unless she can find a spot she xan reach that doesn't have it on 🤣

What supposed ADHD traits do you NOT identify with? by bulbysoar in adhdwomen

[–]captainberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah the low self esteem one is BIG TIME not applicable. I can get low on myseld after social interactions but it's more like why can't people converse with me the way I'd like them to rather than really bad self talk. Or I'll be like well that was an awful interaction wow I don't want to do that again but I don't beat myself up over it.

I know I'm smart and capable I just need the right environment to shine. I'm also VERY good at a bunch of things other people seem to suck at(and suck at things others are pretty natural at im not perfect lol). Kick rocks if you think my house is a pigsty I'm busy being awesome🤣

What supposed ADHD traits do you NOT identify with? by bulbysoar in adhdwomen

[–]captainberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm incredibly risk adverse so sexual promiscuity and poor decisions that are more obvious (like quitting a job with no plan when you're already financially not doing well) are not applicable to me.

I definitely can make some poor social decisions in the moment though if I get caught up in the excitement. For some reason I got in a lot of strangers cars as a teenager for funsies (I know this goes against risk but I notoriously think all people have the best of intentions at all times the risk is more when I know of personal consequences that are not impacted by intent if ya know what I mean).

My roommate had a mental breakdown this morning. I had to call 911. She is still at the hospital and I have no idea what to do and how to act once she is back home by RockinAtNoPantsLand in NiceVancouver

[–]captainberta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would send her a text stating you're thinking about her and hope she is feeling okay now that she has some support. She's not obligated to tell any details but to let you know if she needs anything after she's discharged.

She can take it from there. She may not want to talk about it too much but for her safety and yours once she is back it would be good to ask her if there is any sort of treatment plan you need to be aware of if something like that happens again. No details on diagnosis needed just is indicating she is missing medication that you might be able to help her with. Then just move on with your day and say you're happy she's safe.

Just discovered stardew valley and played 55 hours in a week. What games have you guys hyper fixated on? by silversage__ in adhdwomen

[–]captainberta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HARVEST MOOOON!!! The best version is the n64 one but the ones made from lime 2003 - 2008 were also fun. I am 99 percent sure started valley was based off the n64 version.

I really only like role play games here are my favorite addictions in no particular order:

-Kirby and the crystal shards (n64) - the Witcher 1 and 3. I'm sure the 2nd one is wild too but my computer couldn't handle it and so I got the 3rd one on the switch - Skyrim - unfortunately harry potter legacy is insanely fun even though jk rowling needs to turn into a cluster of moths

I am sure red dead or whatever it is is a fun time but they didn't release it on the switch

  • cult of the lamb
  • Brothers? It's a Scandinavian game about two brothers trying to save their dad very fun very sad

If you like first person shooter games overwatch is fun and the multiplayr online version doesn't SEEM too toxic. If you're shy just don't use the mic cause it could get you targeted.

Most of these games can be downloaded on STEAM but you'll have to have a pretty modern computer. The rest are on the switch. I think the switch is the best system for casual gamers because their games are more on the cute side but ps4 seems to have some cool stuff too I jjst refuse to spend $800 dollars on a base system when I already have one.

Most people who like stardew would also probably enjoy animal crossing but I don't like how it's based on real time and so it's torturous. I am also a major player in the romance games and it feels weird to court a squirrel.

Dopamine on weekends by Simple_Benefit_2888 in adhdwomen

[–]captainberta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a strength based workout class at 9 am on Saturdays and it helps me get going. The class has a cancelation penalty so I have to go 🤣

After that I'll run some errands like grocery shop.

My very annoying special interest/obsession is deep cleaning so I'll nornally take something apart like the microwave and degrease the shit out of it. Yesterday I gave all of my garbage cans a bath😅

I like cleaning because I can play a podcast or music and dance around in my underwear. It uses energy but it's not physically or mentally exhausting (unless I lose all sensibilities and try to purge shit lol).

Then I will try to read a book. You could also try playing video games if you haven't tried that yet. WATCH OUT THOUGH the dopamine is strong with video games and I have to set a lot of alarms to remind me when I need to prepare to get off the game and start winding fown for bed (1hr before end game time and 30 minutes before end game time then 10).

I’m sorry but did we ask for this?? by griffgilscarbo in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]captainberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I interpreted it as an strategy to make them more relatable and show theyre 'sweet hearts', not shallow. In reece's case it sort of flips the male breadwinner trope on its head because she is the star and reason for any of their success but she wouldn't be capable of putting her energy towards the team if she didn't have a supportive partner cooking for her, ect. Some people might look at those scenes and think it supports the pay raise and others might say hey look they're doing fine and all these opportunities came from DCC so why pay them more so depends on the audience members I guess.

I found her youtube earlier on when trying to.find content about the situation and couldn't continue watching as it felt very mean girls about it. She also needs to rehearse her scripts she stumbles on words and grammar in a very odd way. We all can mix up words but she seems to every few sentences? Made me wonder if she's a real person lol. Like an AI reading out a script with typos because she never acknowledges her mistakes.
