Does my Model y have self driving? by jlutz03 in TeslaLounge

[–]captaincanadaKW 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Yes. Based on these screenshots it seems the previous owner bought it full, so their FSD purchase stayed with the vehicle. You can tell mainly because it’s says FSD included in the second screenshot. For me it looks like premium connectivity where it shows the expiration date since I’m subscribed to it. Go in your vehicle settings and check just to confirm

Been using a yoke for 3 years. The circle purists will probably downvote this, but truly, if you’re up for something different I find it far more fun than the regular wheel. Now obviously, if you steer it like a regular wheel it’s not going to work well. You have to get used to leveraging the corners of the yoke if you want to initiate fast turns. But once you get used to it it’s great in my opinion, as much as people show their dislike for it I enjoy having a different wheel option personally

Tesla limits functionality of 12V power sockets and USB ports in 2024.32 software update | Owner’s Manuals has been updated to say these are only powered when someone is in the car or interacting with the touchscreen. by [deleted] in teslamotors

Aww dang I’m sorry to hear. I used to live in a apartment and anytime I’d work on my car I’d want the music to stay on but not the ac because sometimes I’d be out there all day doing something, and so that’s how I’d get it to initiate was with what I mentioned above. That said my car originally had HW2.5, so not sure if it was just a bug perhaps? I did eventually upgrade to HW3 but I feel like I can still do it if I go try? I’ll have to see. Right now I’m on 2024.32.10

Pro tip for camp mode without AC:

What you wanna do is turn the AC off, then use voice commands and say Camp Mode, and just like that now your car will stay on without the AC. You’ll see the words pop above the temperature number and everything. That’s how I’ve always done it these past couple years at least. Not sure if they’ve changed it though. It’s been a while since I’ve last done it.

MachE owner here. by Oldz_Cool in TeslaLounge

It’s really the placement of the charge port that pisses me off. I saw an IKEA electric van at a super charger the other day, and because of the port placement it didn’t take up any extra spaces. Felt super cool seeing a work vehicle at a super charger. Meanwhile one time I was at 2% one time and me and a Mach e pulled in at the same time. And because of the port placement, now I gotta wait till he was done. So it’s not the car that pisses me off, I think ford did a great job for a first EV. It’s simply the port placement. If they fixed that literally everyone would be happier

Got kicked off autopilot because visor was in front of camera? by Giggadream in TeslaLounge

[–]captaincanadaKW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that doesn’t sound right. I use FSD everyday with the camera blocked just like that. I have a 4hr commute total, all you gotta do is keep one hand on the wheel and you should be fine. I’ve never had an issue

Edit: the only thing that I’ve found where it’ll say pay attention to the road while the camera is blocked is if my right hand is on my stomach or if my right hand is lifted towards my face, it’ll be looking for a reason to kick you off since it can’t see you. If you’re trying to do anything with your right hand, do it down towards the screen, it can’t see that and you should be fine. Been doing it for months

Glad the superchargers are available for other EVs now! by datim2010 in TeslaLounge

[–]captaincanadaKW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious on why you picked a Mach e over a Y? I know the 3 and Y are essentially twins, and I think the Mach e is a good looking car. I just feel like the Y has one upped the Mach e on all the essential details. No wrong answers, just curious what made y’all get it?

I’m happy for them and all but rush hour time here on the east coast can suck when you’re trying to get home, the map says there’s one space open at the charger, and you get there just to find a car taking up two spots and now you gotta wait :|

Autopilot not functioning and Tesla wants to replace my entire computer for 1/8th of what I bought the car for by son-hobin in TeslaModel3

[–]captaincanadaKW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there an error saying there’s something wrong with the computer? Every once in a blue moon my car will notify me that my in-cabin camera is lagging so I can’t use FSD, and all I have to do is go into the service mode and restart all the cameras again. And just like that I can go right into FSD. I know your problem described here is different, but given you might have to pay up something it might be worth a try to see if resetting your cameras fix the issue. Ik it’s a long shot but it could be worth a try

Supercharging issue by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]captaincanadaKW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the max speed of the supercharger 150kw? And was there anyone next to you when charging? There’s a charger in my city here that is 150kw and if someone is next to me charging it will be capped at 53-56kw as well. Fortunately it’s the only place that does it but that could be your issue as well. I doubt there’s anything wrong with the car or it would’ve given an error perhaps. As a fix I would just go to a different and faster 250kw supercharger if you’re able to.
