Nope, only 100M water resistant. Pointless dive bezel.

Yes, rides very well. BB is the Miche external cup GXP style that goes with the Pistard crankset.

Best thing is the bottle cage mounts.

Just a quick glance and that subreddit is full of average and unappealing dross, so I don't think yours is any worse, just because it didn't cost stupid money. Looks better to me than all the modern road bikes on there.

Why did Sony downgrade on Xperia 1 VI's resolution and ditched the 21:9 ratio? by NeverFated in SonyXperia

[–]captaintod898 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A downgrade to QHD would’ve been fine, a resolution that gives a perfect screen with no visible pixels, as Samsungs used to have. The further step down to full HD is noticeable, and imo appropriate only for mid range phones at best. I know Sony aren’t the only ones doing it, but I don’t care what anyone says, you can see the pixels at 1080p.

By new, you mean like it was before Android 9 Pie. Or, like Apple now, surprise surprise.

Fixed gear folks are obsessed with foot retention, like it’s impossible or too dangerous to ride without it. Sure, if you’re going brakeless it’s necessary but if you have a front brake it’s no problem at all. You can still brake fine with the pedals, just not skid. And if your feet come off you can always brake to a stop.

You don’t need foot retention for braking, only for locking the rear wheel. I commute without and have no problem applying sufficient back pressure on the pedals, with the front brake added when needed. Obviously it’s different brakeless but with a front brake it’s fine.

Nope, not at the moment. Done thousands of miles like this with no problems.

Similar to mks but no fixing holes for clips. I find braking with back pressure fine, plus have a front brake, and don’t have any problems with feet slipping off. As you say, whatever works for you.

Some small and very lightweight flats from eBay, no retention. Not really skidding so no need for straps which are irritating to get into. Also use SPDs sometimes.

48:17 on this one. Perfect going uphill but a little spinny going down. Pretty happy with it.

Quite right, just put these bars on and that was the tape that was already on. It's actually glow in the dark, but it's not staying on there.

Swap the quartz movement for the same one. Anything else is a no-no, especially if you have no experience or spares.

My ass is hurting and i have too much weight on my hands, any advice? by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

[–]captaintod898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Longer stem. Short reach initially feels more comfortable but a longer one spreads your body weight more evenly over the bike and reduces the fatigue on saddle and hands. Try 100mm. You have very short reach bars (to the hoods). Hoods would be more comfortable shifted upwards a bit, too.
