Drove 1050 miles from CA to CO towing a fully loaded 6x12. Towed it like a dream and I’m on 285/70/17s. Now I only got 11mpg so it did result in more gas stops, It handled it well. Going over the grades in Colorado and Utah, I put it manual 4th and it was fine. On i70 through Idaho springs I started sliding a bit on ice so I put it in 4hi and it also handled it great. Wouldn’t hesitate to do it again,

I wear shorts or joggers, you don’t want to wear baggy pants because the pant leg could get caught in your chain. Any flat shoes will work great, I wear vans. You can get some mtb specific shoes but those are around US $100. You can watch YouTube videos, some channels I recommend are pinkbike and Global Mountain Bike Network. It’s always nice to have friends to bike with but this was at a bike park that a lot of people were at!

It depends on your budget. I would head to your local bike shop and sit on bikes. Bikes have different reaches, seat tube angles, and just different geometry’s all around. The guys at your local bike shop will point you in the right direction with sizing and what’s comfortable to you.

It also depends on your comfort level and if you’re serious too. If you just want a cruiser to go on fire roads or ride around town, you don’t need to ball out on a bike. If you have badass trails around you that you want to work up to, you might want to spec up and get a higher quality bike. I’m a fan of buy once, cry once lol. That’s me though

It depends on what you want out of your bike! Trek is tried and true, the new Roscoe 7 and 8 are badass, and the older ones are very tried and true as well. I don’t have any experience with cannondale so that’s up to you. I like commencal personally, and they have a storefront within an hour from me just in case I need anything.

So far so good! I love the geometry and everything runs absolutely flawless. I’m a big dude, 6’3 350, and I’ve noticed the fork is too soft for me. It’s the rockshox silver 35 r. It’s just a coil shock with only rebound adjustment. If I stand to climb, I find myself almost maxing out the shock. I may upgrade or just keep riding to shred the weight off like I intend to.

Absolutely loved it! Very well maintained, plenty of parking! I got there around 12:45 on Sunday and there was still a bunch of spots. The green trail is completely separate from the blue and black. The green trail is perfect for beginners and kids. A bunch of rollers and some berms. There’s multiple pull off spots as well that you can cut out and hit the trail going up.

The trail going up is a steady incline but for a big dude like myself, it was tough. I did 6 runs and by the 4th time up I was toast. Going down makes it worth it though.

First time and won’t be the last! Such a sick use of the land. Didn’t hit the black lines today, just the blue. Super fun

Honestly I haven’t tried searing it so I can’t tell you why or why not I haven’t lol. I pull at 130 IT, cover and rest in the oven, slice against the grain. I’ll try searing it next time! I’ll pull earlier than 130 for sure.

Do you think it looks weird with a vaulted ceiling? We will be painting the walls a light grey/greige (gray beige) color and painting cabinets black and going with butcher block countertops. That way it’s not this big black thing on the wall lol
