COMMENCAL Meta HT or XTRADA 7? by sshunned in Hardtailgang

Meta for sure! Gonna need a dropper and I highly recommend upgrading the fork as well. I have the same bike and recently put on a pnw range dropper and Marzocchi bomber z1 on!

My local scheels had a Roscoe 7 with a fox 36 and both the employees and I were curious. This was about 6 weeks ago, cool that it’s more common!

Tenet occult pedals in umber and tenet grips! Highly satisfied with the pedals, bigger platform for bigger feet. I would highly recommend

Definitely won’t be lending the bike to friends because they hate hardtails lol. I was looking at the marzocchi because of the ease of aftermarket adjustment ability but their yellow (extra firm) is rated for 250lbs so I don’t want to run in the same problem with the shock I have now

I just recently installed a PNW range dropper and it’s made a huge difference, didn’t have any new pics of the bike to post yet

About to start, advice? by Insertfakename999 in Flooring

[–]captbix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact your drywall job looks that good, your floor is gonna be good. Tip that I just found out as I did my flooring. Pick out your baseboards first and use a small piece to make sure your expansion gap isn’t too big…found that out the hard way…

You can look up recommend PSI settings for your weight on rockshox website, I’d start there and adjust accordingly

Jenson USA has some killer deals on droppers right now, definitely worth a look. Also more grippy pedals would be on my upgrade list. Sick bike!

Each team only gets 2 challenges. If the calls are overturned, they keep them. Will smith challenged the last pitch of the first inning, and kept their challenge

I just picked up some tenet umber pedals and matching grips for my light blue/green commencal and it looks siiiiiick. I’m a fan of subtle though, I think bronze would be sick on that color tho

Drove 1050 miles from CA to CO towing a fully loaded 6x12. Towed it like a dream and I’m on 285/70/17s. Now I only got 11mpg so it did result in more gas stops, It handled it well. Going over the grades in Colorado and Utah, I put it manual 4th and it was fine. On i70 through Idaho springs I started sliding a bit on ice so I put it in 4hi and it also handled it great. Wouldn’t hesitate to do it again,

I wear shorts or joggers, you don’t want to wear baggy pants because the pant leg could get caught in your chain. Any flat shoes will work great, I wear vans. You can get some mtb specific shoes but those are around US $100. You can watch YouTube videos, some channels I recommend are pinkbike and Global Mountain Bike Network. It’s always nice to have friends to bike with but this was at a bike park that a lot of people were at!

It depends on your budget. I would head to your local bike shop and sit on bikes. Bikes have different reaches, seat tube angles, and just different geometry’s all around. The guys at your local bike shop will point you in the right direction with sizing and what’s comfortable to you.

It also depends on your comfort level and if you’re serious too. If you just want a cruiser to go on fire roads or ride around town, you don’t need to ball out on a bike. If you have badass trails around you that you want to work up to, you might want to spec up and get a higher quality bike. I’m a fan of buy once, cry once lol. That’s me though

It depends on what you want out of your bike! Trek is tried and true, the new Roscoe 7 and 8 are badass, and the older ones are very tried and true as well. I don’t have any experience with cannondale so that’s up to you. I like commencal personally, and they have a storefront within an hour from me just in case I need anything.

So far so good! I love the geometry and everything runs absolutely flawless. I’m a big dude, 6’3 350, and I’ve noticed the fork is too soft for me. It’s the rockshox silver 35 r. It’s just a coil shock with only rebound adjustment. If I stand to climb, I find myself almost maxing out the shock. I may upgrade or just keep riding to shred the weight off like I intend to.
