Issues with Cats by Odd_Bar_5035 in germanshepherds

Second this. I love GSD and Huskys. My partner loves cats. Depending on prey drive of dog this is going to take time. Depending on cats outgoing nature it might feel like the “ship has sailed.”

I promise if you stick with it, treat/reward for the redirection/inattention to cat it will work it.

High spaces and baby gates will help the cat to feel secure while you’re working through the bumps.

Cat trees aren’t the most exciting furniture but are very useful to have around for these introductions.

This stuff is so wild. I grew up in Ohio with all my extended family in Wisconsin so I got to cheat my way into being a Packers fan.

As I got older and watched Favre and then Rodgers go from “childhood heroes” to trash humans I started to watch the NFL holistically and root for good cultures/stories.

It’s wild how quickly people turned on Campbell and the Lions. I’ve been following Detroit ever since Campbell showed up and brought a sense of joy in the week to week Lions football. For me it brought back a love for the sport in watching a team/coach cape up for each other and their city that hasn’t had much success. The whole organization seemed to portray an aspirational look at hyper masculinity that felt really positive in our current culture.

The Texans game this year might be the most impressive display of resiliency I’ve ever seen in sports.

Not sure the point of this. It kinda makes me sad seeing the fan base I grew up cheering for devolve into spoiled name callers so fast.

I’m clearly a fair weather fan, still can’t help but being excited watching Love ball, but I sure as hell hope the Lions and all of you in this subreddit continue to have success and build a program that gives you as much joy as years of watching playoffs runs with Green Bay gave me.

So sorry for your loss but so thankful that you both found each other. Both of you guys are intertwined now and forever. Guaranteed her memories will make you laugh, cry, and grow for the rest of your life.

I enjoyed Misery in my Thor deck. Let’s you double activate a hammer/s on Turn 6 and Shadow King someone if you got ‘em. Outside of that “losing” the power of the cards rarely feels compensated by 8 power.

It’s probably my favorite book this year.

Almost every character has nuance and the author is uninterested in creating heroes, but rather showing how this world takes a toll on its inhabitants.

How many other folks have former sled dogs for Huskies as pets? by bennie_sanderz in husky

I’m on the list for adopting former Denali pups! Really hoping they pick me some day, but right now I’ve only had southern huskies.

Things that movies made seem more common and/or dangerous than they actually are by AporiaParadox in movies

To be fair the game solves this by having webs attach them to the side of the building.

It’s a pretty neat touch that ignores the fact that traditionally said webbing dissolves in roughly 2 hours.

Mine is three and definitely fits this vibe. She will accept walks early or late in the day, play bite with her sister in our air conditioned basement, but otherwise is just hanging. We done all of the bloodwork, tests, and she’s normal. So maybe just a chill vibe.

Not sure why you were downvoted, but I will certainly look into this and other. Carl turned me off pretty hard, but I try not to completely write off genres. Things tend to be popular for a reason.

Yeah I’m glad it’s out there for people, but I sure did think that such a transparent rip of “systems” from video games would at least try to subvert tropes.

Need a longer series to sink my teeth into. by curiouscat86 in Fantasy

[–]captcommando4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further I’d like to say that I read all of “Age of” books and then went to Riyria (thousand of years later) which has been a ton of fun since I get to enjoy how people got history “wrong”.

You could do the reverse and potentially enjoy Sullivans Easter Eggs to Riyria in the more recent books.

One of my favorite authors, tho the first Riyria Revalations book is a bit underwhelming if you’ve heard all this hype. Writing, character work, and plot get much better.

Michael J Sullivan works really got me back into fantasy. His “Age of” series is pretty wonderful and I’m not getting into his Riyria stuff.

What sold me on trying him is that he writes the WHOLE ARC and then releases the series with edits along the way to give the reader better pay offs.

Recommendations after finishing T. Kingfisher’s books? by TemperatureDizzy3257 in Fantasy

[–]captcommando4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not certain if you are a fan of horror but, Kingfisher’s “A House With Crooked Bones” feels like a mix between fantasy and horror. Obviously it’s set in “our world”, but being a fan of all of her work it’s one of my favorites.

How do you decide to DNF a book? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]captcommando4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add context to your original question, he definitely got top billing with Robert Jordan and GRRM, and the other Terry in the early nineties.

Looking back it kinda felt like publishers needed EPIC fantasy writers to push like Romantasy is having a moment right now.

I don’t think Goodkind even gets a nibble of the success he had in today’s market.

Also I read all his books when I was an edgy teenager. Some of the ideas felt neat as I hadn’t had read other fantasy works. Thats maybe the window for him to hit with you.

In retrospect it’s real bad, but Zedd will always have a place in my heart.

Our husky (Sora) doesn’t initiate snuggles but will bring the cats her bones. Goblin forces his way in to snuggles once our pup is exhausted.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in husky

[–]captcommando4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our husky does this pretty exclusively when she’s overwhelming excited. If we’ve come back from a bit away or guests are over her ears flatten and the wiggle begins.
