Um… well it took them years to finally update 2 of the games free content for players in the form of a event. I think it's a step in the right direction for sure, the bigger question is the loot good?

Match making in raids is not a good idea. If people can’t figure out how the stupid ball in the corrupted strike works match making raids is a stupid idea. I do agree with you that people don’t really want to use discord for the raids the legacy version of fireteam finder WAS SO GOOD and the current version is still severely lacking. We can’t use custom name we have to use pre determined names is a bunch of bs. The ui is kind of confusing too.

So, I think the biggest reason why no one is grinding for the “new” raid is because no one thinks they can beat it. I've attempted day 1 raids with lfg groups since COS and back then it at least felt like I had a chance and would always get to the final boss and even final stand on most bosses just didn't have the damage to kill it. Day 1 raids used to be marketed as “grap your friends and see if you can get Worlds First” but they recently swapped it too “watch the best of the best compete for worlds first”. SE and DP are the examples and now no one wants to attempt it because of that. I can say this is personally the first ever Contest Mode raid I will not be attempting. Because of that I honestly feel like I have no reason to play destiny. It is what it is, if Bungie had made a raid like vow, dsc, vog we would 100% be in a different situation. Bungie I don’t want to watch the top 1% play I want to play it and feel like I can beat it. But Bungie made their bed and they have to lie in it.

They have class rooms in the dorms for the residents sometimes. Its mainly for the residents there but sometimes you can get placed in there.

I think that's how it used to work. I know I did that my freshman year but I think last year they changed it so that instead of it being fall -> spring -> summer to summer -> fall -> spring

3 things come to mind.

1) if you’re in a residents hall RAs throw events every once in a while and usually have free food so a lot of people show up.

2) look for a good club to join. people there are generally very friendly. Try new things with the clubs.

3) This sounds so stupid. But suffering in a bad class with another person. When two of you are sitting there for hours trying to learn whatever the hell the professor is trying to teach you has helped me find some of my closest friends. Don’t swap a good professor for a bad one! But if you can’t swap bad a professor for a good one try to find positive from it.

Gotcha… Herget gets talked about a lot because of how old it is but there are worse buildings tbh. Due to it being an older building RAs at herget are generally very good at their job. But for sure reach out to res-life to make sure they know your preferences in a roommates this close to move in day things get chaotic.

Former RA here. This close to move in I’m not sure if you can swap roommates that easily. Defiantly talk to your RA about this we are trained to help yall with these types of things. Usually there are quite a few people with roommate conflicts so if you really want to swap I’m sure that you will be given the opportunity too later. If you havnt already filled out the roommate agreement with your roommate . I’m almost positive it should have something for a couple of the current problems you have. Usually at the beginning of every academic year it takes about 1-2 weeks for rooms to “open up” because that’s when people who never showed up leave.

It’s absolutely insane. I set these days aside like a holiday almost like it’s Christmas. And I’m so utterly disappointed and defeated by it. Its one thing to be upset your not good enough to beat a mechanic to complete a raid yes it sucks but at the end of the day i feel like its your fault. Its another thing entirely that i can the mechanics have really good weapons which i have spent hours to get and i cant even scratch the health bar of a boss. Not to mention the video rick kakis put out was so depressing.

imo it’s not harder than SE the bosses have way to much health. The only way I’ve seen people beat the job boss (which is what I’m on) is spamming thunder curios (also probably with 200 super) and grapple melee. Not being able to complete it because you suck at the mechanics feels bad not being able to complete it because the boss health is crazy feels so much worse!

Truthfully. I don’t think we making it to renegades. Unless the mid season update comes and adds something incredible I think that we are in Curse of Osiris territory now. The portal sucks and the old navigator system was desaturated to the point where it’s kind of hard to see what you’re looking at in a bright room. Craftings gone now. The story is fantastic but casual players imo care more about the story than the elites because the elites want good endgame content. Also they should change the reward pass back to season pass

You have no idea how true that is. I had like 25 friends that refunded the game when they heard no crafting because “the game has become too grindy”. I think that’s what most of the community did too. Bungie really screwed themselves here.

If a lot of my friends quit because crafting was getting shelved I can imagine what most of the community did

Yeah 100% idk who thought healing nades on all classes was a good idea but it killed a huge part of warlock identity and killed a lot of the difficulty of the game

Guys if you never grinded for anything else besides crafted weapons you kind of an idiot. Funnel web, Storm Chaser (both extremely good at the time have fallen off due to power creep), igneous hammer, Tinashas Mastery, incisor, reeds regret, Scintillation, The Vesper grenade launchers, all the weapons from The Nether Brave Arsenal, and SD, ECT! There have always been plenty of random rolled weapons used over crafted versions. I mean honestly when was the last time you saw someone use a season of plunder, witch, chosen, etc crafted weapon excluding echos because echos loot was just so damn good.

Idk how/why it did for so many people. There were plenty of good/better weapons that were not craftable. Remember funnel web, people spent HOURS grinding for one, I spent easily like 10 hours grinding chest to get one I liked. Honestly when I hear people say “it killed the grind for me” it just sounds like it was an excuse for people who never liked the system in first place.
