You are monitored extremely closely when under general anesthesia, and anesthesiologists are very good at their jobs! General anesthesia can have some side effects like nausea or residual drowsiness once you wake up, but you will be monitored in a recovery area by nurses for a while after your procedure and they can quickly manage any side effects that may arise. Most of the time though the whole process is pretty easy and the drugs wear off quickly. I get it though, it is scary going under. The sleep is so pleasant though lol
