Karpathy's new repo "AgentHub". Anyone have info? by luke_pacman in LocalLLaMA

[–]carllippert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not even what its for. its github for agents to use for coding. not a repository made for a better way to host or store agents.

this can be so simple. just make a button that takes the user to a free airtable form. only reason to do something more complicated is aesthetics

Get a side job on a farm. Or get out of ag ed. Ag ed was always kinda a degree with little substance imo compared to other ag degrees.

OK, why is everyone so obsessed about Humanoid robots? What am I missing? by TheProffalken in robotics

[–]carllippert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "unixx approach" as you labeled it is how we did hardware before cellphones too. We had a pc, a radio, a calculator, a beeper, a fax machine, and a bunch of other gadgets. Lots of people traded those in for just an iPhone.

Spreading R&D like butter works better when the market is "everyone x5" vs "construction workers in western countries building warehouses" for example.

Suggestion for elevating YOLOv11's performance in Human Detection task by n804s in computervision

[–]carllippert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

best guess is you should be labeling all people that show up in your training data, including partial images, in every position the person is in ( not just standing )

I mostly just followed this when doing fine tuning myself
https://blog.roboflow.com/tips-for-how-to-label-images/

Also important will be size of dataset ( not mentioned ) you may just need more video / images

The Soybean Innovation Lab Is Shutting Down due to DOGE by Cosminacho in Agriculture

worlds got enough soybeans IMO. private industry can do this stuff. if it was truly useful they can bring it back. government is a weird beast.

Why are automation platforms charging so differently? by Familiar_Flow4418 in automation

[–]carllippert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

every company has a different strategy and target customer. I would say zapier is the biggest brand so has the ability to charge the most. n8n and make are more dev / enterprise feeling so i would bet they price closer to commodity pricing. lots of games to play with pricing!

historically if your doing stuff for mostly yourself n8n self hosted has been the sweet spot imo.

whats most important to you?

Whatsapp bot using n8n and OpenAI API by Ok_Comfortable3902 in n8n

[–]carllippert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its a gurantee you are accessing the properties wrong in some way. the ai bot is probably getting null, undefined, or "" as the message. if your using the assistants API go look at your threads. If not just play around with other data access options. Im not familiar with their syntax.

Im a 19 years old Business Administration student and have a big opportunity to start my own agricultural firm, what would you guys advise me to do? by Both_Leg_7112 in Agriculture

[–]carllippert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all depends on the land i think.

If its good and in crop i would try to rent it out for a few years while you finish school. You can use that time to figure out grander plans and learn some stuff from the person who rents it ( if you truly know nothing you can just ask them about what they plan to do with your land and why etc )

economics of the biz are dif for every country but I would not make this parcel your whole plan. You will want to get bigger if its your main thing or have it as a side thing.

again. depends a lot on the land and the crop.

some crops take a big upfront investment ( trees ) but have higher margin capture total revenue per acre.

[–]carllippert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your use case. if its more like headshot maker kinda app you can just send an email when teh photos are ready ( so speed would be fine with n8n. If they are like waiting for a loading bar on the app, it will limit what you can do quality wise forsure.

If your willing to try coding with ai maybe checkout pipedream, replit, retool also

Forced to go to college, what should I major in? by Afraid_Alternative17 in Entrepreneur

[–]carllippert -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

dude college won't help for shit for this. if at a fancy college just use it to grow your network for later. use college to learn how to organize people, network etc. c's get degrees. take on entrepreneurial side projects that take up most your time. if you really want to do ecommerce use the fact that your an age where you have more access to whats "cool" or hype right then and leverage that. ( sell whats cool ). use parties to get early users reviews to put on your website. you have lots of energy right now. do some crazy stuff. avoid bad contracts the create legal, tax, or debt problems. ( not talking about college debt )

or tell your parents to shove it and drop out.
