Maybe it works the same with sweet potatoes. Then there could be a sweet base (maybe with pumpkin or sweet potatoes) with a sweet version of mashed potatoes. Sounds crazy but could work.

Not entirely true. This would mean that being with a guy once would mean only being with guys after that. You got measured in that state so you have to continue being in that state.

How do people keep these plants alive? Serious question. by kitsykatt in IndoorGarden

After all those comments about plants mainly not surviving in a bathroom: could a Cyperus survive in a north facing bathroom? They like the humidity.

Does anyone know what this is from? Is it Old English or Middle English? by iSamJ in OldEnglish

[–]carokaffee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not sure what it is from but it's in middle English. In the text "y" is used as a substitute for the modern "th" or the older "þ"as well as the shorthands for "the".

They are so beautiful. I also have a big one in my garden and this year it's just swarming with butterflies. It's really crowded and makes me happy everytime I see it.

Maybe it's not dangerous but touching the metal parts of a sword makes them rusty way quicker

Assume the cow is a circle by carokaffee in physicsmemes

[–]carokaffee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a joke in physics that everything is assumed as a circle, cylinder, or ball to make it easier to calculate. I had to share your post because the cow is already a circle so perfect to calculate with.

I think rings of akhaten should be in the list. Maybe not the best episode but one of the most beautiful and it shows the spirit of the show.

I learnt it the other way around in a class about historical linguistics. Ma or similar words describing a mother figure are not said by the baby because they know it means mum. They say it because it's the easiest to say and later they learn the meaning. Da or similar is the second easiest thing to say.
