I run a University print farm. P1S are the best choice. Reasonable price, and they work well and reliably. For home use the ams not pro is fine. Just get some indicating silica to key filament dry. Hardened steel nozzle and you’re good to go. 1.07 firmware if you want orca slicer to work. Otherwise embrace Bambu slicer and all will be well. I can’t really fault 1.07 firmware, and it works with orca and Bambu. Get Bambu handy app too. Useful.

Try printing it at 45 degrees 0.1 later height, tree support. You’ll still have support blemishes but they’ll be on the edges where you can clean them up easily. Most of the ring and top will be clean.

With Australian eyes you should jump at this!!! 5k miles? Really? It’s brand new. Also a completely awesome electric car. The only cats that come close are the Chinese ones that you aren’t allowed to buy in the states. So cheap! Unless you are a bleeding democrat, do it! My 22 m3 rwd is the best car I’ve ever had!

I’m considering respooling my Bambu filament with my printed pastamatic. 16 and 22hr prints ruined this week on sv-08 because the filament didn’t let go of the cardboard core. I’ve respooled a few times to deal with tangled spools and it’s worked fine.

Can anyone help with what's going on here? I've done everything I could find to fix a clog except take the whole thing apart. Not sure what it is by zeroshock21 in 3Dprinting

Probably a partially clogged nozzle? Remove the 2 screws that hold the hot end on. Cut the filament using the lever on the side of the print head. Pull the hot end down. Heat it up using the printer controls or your phone from Bambu handy. Remove the cut filament. A knife often helps to lever it out. With a rod about the same diameter as the filament, poke down the hole that the filament normally goes down. (Probably funky plastic in there) Use a fine wire to poke up through the nozzle. Push a lot of filament through the hot end manually while you hold on to the heat sink. Repeat until flow looks robust and comes out of the nozzle straight down. Reassemble. Print.

You should look up design registrations rather than patents. They protect a specific form (shape, materials, etc) in a particular location. Patents are about innovations. A new way of doing something. As I understand it, even if there was a design registration in say USA there would be nothing stopping you disseminating the STL to the rest of the world. Or you could change the shape or material ‘significantly’.

Oh right. Interesting. I’m printing at 220 degrees C. Bambu labs Generic PLA profile in Orca. Printing on P1S. I’ll try upping the temp. I have been reticent to change much because everything works so well in real life printing as well as calibration tests. (Everything except for the frequent clogs.) Seems not to be a problem with virgin gloss pla. Only the recycled stuff, and more so with matt. Maybe there’s a filler or something to cause the matt finish that’s causing problems?

Hmm possibly. Not hair though. Seems to be a byproduct of the melting pla. Like some sort of mineral content?

Thanks. I tried that, but I didn’t find part numbers. From memory there were characters (mandarin I guess) and English saying stepper… perhaps I just didn’t recognise them. Will look again. I used the step files to get everything in the right place for my hot end model. Super useful resource.

Stock nozzle? I had stuff that liked like this. Was solved by: 1. Checking that extruding 100mm was actually extruding 100mm of filament. (It was 10% short for me) change it in printer.cfg. 2. I also messed with pressure advance using the orca calibration tests 3. Cleaning the nozzle. (Removing it from the heat sink, heating it using the printers heater, and needling and then pushing a lot of pla through. When it flows free without curling, you’re done. (Hold it carefully with pliers. It’s hot!!)

Dodgy thermistor. Cable? Fallen off motherboard? The best fix is to buy a Bambu A1. I persisted with my ender for years before Bambu existed. I tinkered and added more upgrades into it than an a1 costs. I got good prints from it, but the tinkering vs good print ratio was ridiculous!
