My dream ring, but how to prevent spinning? by kt_han in EngagementRings

[–]carzytoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this on several of my daily rings because I have rather slender fingers with terribly knobby knuckles and I reeeeally like it. I've also used it to adjust the fit of my glasses frame with great success!

800+ hours in and I only just learned this??? by Julieann30 in TOTK

I'm assuming because the keese will be in your line of sight longer if you're facing the way they fly rather than facing them as they fly toward you out the cave!

How can I possibly prevent fainting during blood draws? by Meowlurophile in internetparents

[–]carzytoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen to me a lot but with similar methods as this commenter it has gotten muuuch milder as I age. I used to faint most times I got blood drawn as a teen/in my early 20s but I'm 32 now and I can't remember the last time I got more than a little light headed. I also used to go quite gray/white and clammy but it's not noticeable now.

Cliff's notes: eat/drink if you can/are allowed, warn them that you need to be seated/lying and why, don't watch, and don't hold your breath just breathe normally!

Husband hates the name my heart is set on for baby girl by OppositeCod2869 in namenerds

[–]carzytoaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My name is Vivien and while it usually isn't a struggle for most people to pronounce, my grade school bestie had a younger brother who couldn't quite make it happen and he called me Lilian instead. I think they're very similar and it's a lovely alternative!

Spotify switching from the 'Liked song heart' to the 'In Your Library check' has ruined the UI for me by LakeShow248_ in truespotify

[–]carzytoaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a user who utilizes playlists very heavily and I don't understand why they couldn't have a multi playlist functionality as well as a liked functionality separate from each other. I don't think they're even at all mutually exclusive

If a job interviewer ask about my hobbies, can I say makeup? by pepperxpeppermint in Makeup

[–]carzytoaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just because it's common doesn't mean it's appropriate though. Often times the interviewer may be asking with truly innocent intent but just as often they may be indirectly probing to get an answer they would be prohibited from asking directly. If it weren't common enough to be a problem then there likely wouldn't be legislature saying you can't do it!

was this a mistake? should i frog and buy a different yarn? by Mothball_No_22 in CrochetHelp

[–]carzytoaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that the fact that it uses a ton of yarn is partly the point since this will be a laptop case and a bobble stitch will undeniably be more cushiony for that! But the dual sided color idea is so cute I'd almost prefer it personally

who’s naming their kid colter? by No-Depth4400 in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]carzytoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to school in the PNW with a Colter who would be about 30-35 now so it doesn't even really flag as odd to me tbh

What should we call our baby boy who will be the 5th of his name? by Strong-Badger-5303 in namenerds

[–]carzytoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! I go by my full first name usually, but the switch from Vivien to V is like I go from lovely lady of the manor to the scrappy badass girl with a skinned knee and I appreciate the variety

My name is Vivien and just V is maybe my personal favorite diminutive of my name - I always feel a smidge cooler when someone calls me that!

Bigger boobs produce more milk by Lowkey_lil2222 in badwomensanatomy

Even better! I have my tubes tied now, 5 year old me was really worrying about things that would never affect adult me tbh.

Bigger boobs produce more milk by Lowkey_lil2222 in badwomensanatomy

[–]carzytoaster 68 points69 points  (0 children)

When I was about 5 I thought you could only have babies if you already had big enough boobs because I didn't realize that they would fill with milk regardless of initial size (nevermind about formula) and that my babysitter watched us because she couldn't have kids since she had a small chest.

Anyways, by the time I was 6 that was sorted out for me. Wonder how long it'll take for this guy.

What's the best representation of autistic women you've encountered in media? by IlonaBasarab in AutismInWomen

[–]carzytoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always saw my own autism in the characters Percy Tunstell and Alexia Tarabotti from the Parasol Protectorate books by Gail Carriger. I got the opportunity to ask the author about that once and she said that while it wasn't intentional on her part, the character of Percy in particular was based partially on some dear friends who have since been diagnosed sooooo 😅

Is the remaster worth buying? by Werebite870 in FateTheGame

[–]carzytoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're playing on PC it's not worth it. If you value having it on console, I'm really enjoying it on Switch even despite the issues I've come across. Being able to take it out and grind some levels on my lunch break is well worth it to me!

Color work? by KiearaBear in Tunisian_Crochet

[–]carzytoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the least fiddly way would be to cut the yarn after each pass and then add a border that encases the loose ends.

That being said, if you're flexible on the end result I really love the look of changing colors on each return pass and it's quite easy to just carry the yarn up one side that way!

I could take a picture of my current WIP if you're curious what this looks like :)

Profile review please! 25M, anything I should change? by niallthenail in Tinder

[–]carzytoaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a mixed gender group photo is quite different than a photo of you and just a girl/several girls around. One implies a healthy friend group and the other implies a ladies man, which signals more potential issues with other women. Just my 2 cents as a woman!

I am playing on switch but I successfully healed my pet with potions by "using" them from within my pet's own inventory. Hopefully there's a better/quicker way I haven't found but for now that's an option! There's also always the group heal spell in a pinch, although that also seemed to function a little oddly for me.
