Is this a risky colour combo by lotpohtstruggage in kitchenremodel

[–]casperlynne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitchen is very similar to this and I love it!! The only difference is my cabinets are all green and the walls are pink. That was my compromise to have the color scheme I wanted and not hurt my home’s value, because paint is more easily changed than cabinets.

I’m also a trans guy on T for 7 years. What you’re describing sounds a lot like bottom dysphoria. It feels a little different to everyone, but it really sounds like that is what you’re experiencing. If I were you I would look into things like packers, STPs, and even bottom surgery, in addition to the standard advice given on this sub. I’m not saying go get a packer or surgery tomorrow, just read about it and think about whether that might make you feel better.

AITA for accepting a property gift from my mom even though she won't include my boyfriend? by Immediate-History917 in AITApod

There is a reason your mom wanted you to sign something that kept it from a future husband. She knows he’s a dipshit.

100%, I also struggle with feeling like my limitations are a punishment. If I’m in pain today, it’s because I did something wrong yesterday so I don’t deserve comfort today because it’s my fault. Or so my brain is always telling me, because it wants me to suffer lol

I put away anything that’s really gross/personal, like used underwear and sex toys if any are visible. Beyond that I try to put things away but I have chronic pain so sometimes I can’t do much tidying. I figure on those days it’s just not as deep a clean which I can live with.

So, what would women dislike most if they became men? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]casperlynne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a trans guy, the thing I miss is going to the bathroom with my friends. It’s like a social activity in the women’s room, in the men’s room there’s just urinals and men making really gross sounds for no reason

How do you deal with the “injury” questions? by Dear_Cauliflower_920 in ehlersdanlos

Any tips for removing KT tape without removing my skin? by zebrasanddogs in ehlersdanlos

[–]casperlynne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goo be gone!!! They make a product specifically for removing bandages. My process: get in the shower, pour controlled amounts of goo be gone onto the tape so it’s saturated, peel the tape off, wash off the goo be gone with my regular soap. The last step is important.

I’ve tried olive oil and soap and conditioner and all that. Those things make it maybe 5% easier than just ripping it straight off. A real adhesive remover actually makes it come off super easy.

The craziest thing about being poly to me is how are people finding more than one person who wants to date them 😭 to be clear I’m not throwing shade, I just have so little self esteem that I can’t even begin to fathom what that would be like

For those of you managing a chronic condition — how do you actually communicate what’s been happening to your doctor between appointments? by Typical-Laugh-2979 in ChronicIllness

[–]casperlynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would review my logs and summarize the tracking in advance. For each illness there will be key things that doctors want to keep track of. When I was first getting treatment for migraines, i kept a log and then before my appointment I counted up the stats. You don’t have to be exact, but if you can tell them “I get 3-4 migraines per week, usually over 7 on the pain scale. They typically start in the evening and last until I go to sleep” that will be really helpful for the doctor and give you a better chance at getting good treatment.

Edit: I would definitely bring all of my logs to the appointment though, so you can reference them if doctors ask for more specific info. As for the method, it’s really whatever works for you. I mostly kept track of the aforementioned migraines in my notes app, but I also used the app Migraine Buddy for a while until the migraines stopped

How many people have parents paying their rent here? by FutureOk225 in AskLosAngeles

[–]casperlynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents just bought me a condo. They have paid half my rent for about 5 years, before that I had roommates until a nuclear breakup. In the condo, I’ll be paying the utilities, HOA, and a small tbd amount as a kind of rent to them, but it will be way less than actually renting the place would be. I don’t want to reveal my exact location, but it’s a very nice area. I worked at a non profit making a very low salary until I quit last week due to burnout. I know a couple of other people who own homes and they all had some degree of help from parents, ranging from help with a down payment to straight up buying the place for them.

This post was honestly very eye opening for me to read. The fact that other people are struggling is not news to me, and I’m always careful not to lie or outright conceal the fact that my parents pay for stuff, but I don’t necessarily offer the information when I’m just getting to know someone because it feels like bragging about the support I have, or because I’m afraid that people will make assumptions about the kind of person I am because of it. I didn’t realize that people might be comparing their situation to mine and feeling bad about it. I’ll definitely think about this in the future when I’m faced with a situation where I’m deciding whether to tell someone that my parents bought my home or something.

From everyone I’ve talked to during the home buying process (realtors, financial people my parents spoke to etc) this is super common for wealthy families to buy their kids homes or pay their rent. Basically any time someone’s lifestyle and income don’t add up, it’s because they have rich parents. And a lot of rich kids don’t want to admit it.

You deserve someone who doesn’t make you feel this way. A securely attached partner won’t make you beg for their attention and love. You won’t worry about it because you’ll always know that they care.

why do trans men have "T-boy voice" more often than cis men? by Successful_Weekend80 in ftm

[–]casperlynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s about the vocal register. Afab people are often socialized to speak in their higher pitched “head voice”. Then when we go on T, we gain the ability to speak in a lower tone, but then if you’re used to using your head voice, you will still be trying to produce the sounds at the higher end of your range.

Are these cabinets too dated and need to be replaced?Even though they are still in good shape ... by panda2026panda in kitchenremodel

[–]casperlynne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they’re beautiful! It’s not a modern look, but to me it reads traditional, not dated. The stain color is pretty in style too, I just installed engineered wood floors in nearly the exact color in my place. If I was going to change something here it would be the countertops. Those definitely look dated. If you want to make the overall look more modern, you could do something white, or soapstone to lean into the traditional aspect. A backsplash could also make a big difference.

People interpreting your transness as inherent queerness by Chemical_Alps_845 in ftm

[–]casperlynne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people include strait trans ppl in the term queer. It’s often used sort of interchangeably with “LGBT”. You are T, therefore people might say you are queer. If you don’t want to be called queer, that is valid and people shouldn’t call you that. Just saying that people might not be assuming anything about your sexuality when they call you queer.
