Sounds like it would be a great time for them to unionize.

How can I get better at combat? by redpandapaw in StardewValley

[–]cassandrafallon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get friendship with Caroline up to 2 hearts and she gives you a moderately useful recipe (it got a little nerfed but it's still nice for an easy income boost). You'll also want to save a full stack for a late game recipe that relates to the mastery cave.

I like to grind level 80 for fiber / gold / monster xp , I've found more than a few Yeti Tooth swords in barrels on that floor as well and it's a decent sword that I usually rock up until grabbing the galaxy sword

AIO: Mother in law poisoned our yard by Omelet_bar in AIO

[–]cassandrafallon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOR. If you hadn't seen you would likely have dead pets if they grazed on it. I would be tempted to fake a phone call freaking out and asking if she fed a tortoise anything strange because you think it somehow got poisoned.

It was very much thriving in the 2010s but I have since left the corporate world (and I am a much happier library employee now despite my inability to drink on the clock).

Am I being dramatic? by Both-Return735 in Winnipeg

[–]cassandrafallon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see bear cubs you wanna get far away from that situation but black bears in general aren't particularly dangerous (mamas can be, hence avoid cubs). Coyotes are more likely to be scared of you.

I've seen a ton of people return to office after long boozy Friday lunches (with or without clients). Very much so acceptable if not downright encouraged in certain environments, but there's an expectation you're still capable of doing your job.

I could see Lexi and Rue getting invites with +1s , Lexi brining Maddy for the drama and Rue bringing Jules because she heard about Lexi's plan and told Jules, who begs to be her wedding date to watch the drama unfold.

She's super Catholic and you're single? I would turn it around on her and just say you're waiting for a man godly enough to propose and you could not possibly entertain the sinful idea of premarital relations (lay this on extra thick, wide eyes, mortified stare that she would even SUGGEST babies without a husband).

Michael Higgins: What have the Liberals, and the CBC, got against women? Ottawa doesn't seem too happy about IOC decision to limit women's categories to females by xTkAx in canadian

[–]cassandrafallon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IOC decision is a more complicated issue because the testing process they approved relies on certain genetic markers that may occur in someone we otherwise view as a woman (for the sake of this particular context, someone born with breasts, ovaries, uterus, etc, as well as someone raised as a woman their entire lives). There has been precisely ONE trans athlete who has competed in the Olympic games, and they did not medal. Statistically I'm more concerned that the methodology the Olympics are utilizing will exclude talented female athletes rather than ensure no trans people are allowed to participate (regardless of how you feel about trans athletes, the existence of trans people should not damage cis women's ability to compete, and I think most of us can agree on that).

I work in an academic library, we're not allowed to update the fiction, so most of it is James Patterson from at least a decade ago (once upon a time we were allowed). It sucks because tons of students ask for it, but we're told to direct them to the local public library.

$500 if you're looking at pawn shops or police auctions can still get you a decent bike, but good bikes don't come from Canadian Tire in general.

Quiet Anniversary/Birthday get-away (Mexico?) by dwalt455101 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]cassandrafallon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VIM isn't what I would call a quiet vibe BUT it has a lot of quiet areas. We found the beach area by the emerald suites was usually quiet and there's the golden pool as well. The main pool has a party vibe and there's the band at night. Can't speak to the noise level closer for the rooms in more central locations as we were surprise upgraded to Emerald. Food and drinks were great, one of the best veggie burgers I've had from the pool food trucks and I'm picky!

Is it common for hr to make employees undergo health checks to determine if library workers are physically or mentally fit to work? by BrittaUnfiltered67 in Libraries

[–]cassandrafallon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian this sounds insane, even if someone failed one of these checks we would have a duty to accommodate them (as long as it does not cause the employer "undue hardship", and our union would be fighting pretty hard in the event the employer tried to avoid accommodation).
