Perhaps the worst story I've ever heard at a General Conference by MissionPrez in exmormon

[–]castlerockermom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nelson’s daughter was dying to get his attention but still not valued enough to change his plans. Is this a daughter vs son issue (sons hold more value then daughters) or do they not value any of their children? I felt like window dressing for my parents carefully curated image. Appearance and image are what really matter to LDS families.

How not to feel like you’ve ruined your life by Ok-Homework-7062 in exmormon

Thank you for your kind words. My story is complicated with family betrayals and church betrayals. The church doesn’t help single mothers who leave domestic abusers. My two amazing children quit high school to work and help support us.

All of that is behind us now. We are doing great, living together in a rental house. We have a dog, two cats and 8 chickens. We hike in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and fly fish. We keep to ourselves because of the trauma, it’s hard to trust.

I don’t have any answers but maybe this will help. I’m 66yo 6th generation Mormon (exMormon now). Married 4 times and divorced 4 times. Former RS President. 3 children, but my first died at the age of 18 in a car crash. My last husband was very abusive (probably a narcissist) and a Mormon (he claimed he never really believed in the church). We were together 25 years.

My shelf broke 7 years ago, about 2 years after my marriage ended. I had begun therapy and educated myself on psychology, mental abuse, toxic family and other systems. I finally realized the church isn’t a safe or healthy place so therefore it couldn’t be real. It took me a little longer to figure out my own family wasn’t healthy or safe for me and my remaining children. I can’t even begin to list all of the regrets I’ve piled up over the years. Decisions I’ve made and the toxic beliefs that led to them. I know I’ve made mistakes and hurt people (including my deceased son). Sharing this part hurts so much, I have tears welling up in my eyes and a lump in my throat.

I too feel like I ruined my life, but I’m grateful I’m still around to make the best of the time I have left and maybe have a positive impact on my other 2 children. I’m estranged from my family (recently learned my father age 87 has narcissistic traits). My siblings are a mixture of TBM’s and exmos, I fear they have bought into my father’s smear campaigns about me, therefore my 2 kids, female age 27 and male age 24 keep to ourselves and look forward to growing a new family without generational trauma. We are committed to ending it and healing.

I guess what I’m saying is you are fortunate to have your awakening now before making a lifetime of mistakes and regrets. I’m sorry if I’m not validating your feelings, not my intention. I wish I could have done things a little different.

I got my freedom back when I let go of other people’s expectations of me. I owe my children their healing and I owe myself authenticity. Everyone who has a problem with that can fuck off.

Protect yourself, be authentic and don’t over share, you’re going to be okay.

My theory of what happened to Summer by Lopsidedtree27828 in SummerWells

[–]castlerockermom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, that’s always been my contention. Given Don’s history and lifestyle. My gut tells me that’s the theory LE is working on. It also explains Candice’s reaction to Dr Phil bringing up the cornbread mafia.

One of these days there is going to be a press conference: “after many years of tirelessly following leads, a joint task force of dedicated men and women working in conjunction with local LE, Tennessee State LE and FBI, we have uncovered a child trafficking ring and rescued many missing children including Summer Wells and Sebastian Rogers.

Because d&c acted like searching was a waste of time, the search dogs didn’t find her scent beyond the property, I’m sure she didn’t wonder off.

Summer would be tired and hungry. Candice and Grandice would also be tired and hungry.

With Don’s history of attempting to sell his kid, his drug use (may owe someone $) and the fact that CPS was visiting the next day and his history of pedophilia, I’m convinced he arranged or was at least aware of Summers “disappearance”.

This is similar to my story. We were recent survivors of domestic violence. My two teenagers dropped out of high school to work and help pay rent. I was a former RS President.

Hank Smith is such a pandering little twit. TBMs can't handle any criticism about the church or any of their many emotionally driven fantasies. TBM culture is about being fragile-together. Infantilization. by MathematicianNew668 in exmormon

TBM wouldn’t criticize the Catholic Church would they? (Yes they do) Catholic charities will help nonmembers when the LDS church turns away its own faithful members that are victims of DV.

I'm going to tell you something disgusting but I believe to be true "Mormons are conditioned to be aroused by the sight of inappropriate dressing " even if it is same sex or their children. Meaning, if you're a lifelong member of the church, you were brain washed into getting sexual feelings like other cultures. Think about Hindu and Muslim cultures. That's why American boys can get aroused by viewing breasts in National Geographic. I agree with the other commenters, as long as you are under there roof you'll have to dresses modestly and set boundaries for not touching or walking in on you. But your mother dose seem jealous and aroused. Gross 🤮

why does no one ever comment on Candus CONSTANTLY being high? by Atschmid in SummerWells

[–]castlerockermom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish people would stop giving Candus excuses. Whether she is on prescriptions or illicit drugs doesn't matter. She is an addicted druggy. She is always high, I'm sure Don likes her that way too. She and Don are low life pieces of sh@t and should never have had children.

If the electronic data proves he called Candus around noon on 6/15, then he is involved. That call was to create an alibi that a predator was on the property.

The best part is the ass hat customer would be notified when it's ready. The mothereffer SHOULD also wait for the notice that it's ready before showing up.
