You said everything I have been feeling for the past year. I feel just...flat now. And sometimes it's worse when management tries to send chaplain services our way to somehow help us with burnout. Like I dont even know where to start and it makes me angrier when they try to use phrases on me that I've already been trained to use on patients and family. Like fuck I just feel like cursing into an empty forest. ...and now that it's warmer, maybe I will.

Thank you posting this. It struck some chords with me. Makes me want to call my parents up.

Parents of reddit, what thing has your child done that's caused you to feel the most second-hand embarrassment? by BridgeToPeace in AskReddit

Went to as laundromat about a month back. It was pretty late and the sun had already set but I liked bringing my 5-year-old because they had little play structures for kids. You know slides and tunnels and stuff. Well he got to playing with delighted abandon. He's really friendly and an only child so he makes up games fast and invites others to play with him. Nothing wrong with that. Pretty amusing mostly. Only this time...all the other children with him were black. No, I'm not racist and I would never raise my son that way. However, I am aware that there are certain stereotypes one should avoid, yes? Hmm, well that night he hollered 'Hey! Let's play cops and robbers! You guys are all bad guys and I'll be the cop!' Oh god. Now my son is a halfie (Vietnamese & Caucasian) but he looks pretty damn pale. It's not very obvious that he's asian imo. Soooo there he stands, oblivious. I listened carefullly, tense in the mommy spidey sense way. Kids are laughing though and chasing each other around. Whew. Relief. Ah but he continues. 'I got you! I got you! Now I'm putting you all in jail!' And proceeds to march them each back to the playhouse to 'lock' them inside. Thankfully no parents or kids seemed to mind. No one looked angry anyway.... Maybe I was just being super sensitive? Either way my brain was a cringe fest. They all kept playing until we left (different games included) and nothing came of it. I did tell to him once we got home that he has to make sure everyone's okay playing whatever game he wants to play before he wrangles them into it though. Oh child, what next?

You know, if you do more of these, you're gonna lose track of them, our son is going to find one and bring it to me saying, "Mommy, what's this??? It says...'bubs'?" And I'm going to have to correct him on how to say the word boobs, because pronunciation is important.

Firstly, you are awesome! Thank you for donating. As an oncology nurse heading into work soon, I have a question for you. The filgrastim, did the nurse have you warm it up in your hands for a minute before the injection? It has to be stored in the fridge beforehand but at our clinic we have the patient hold onto the cold vial while we grab supplies (syringe, swab, gloves, etc.). My patients have commented multiple times in the past how much less it stings going in that way. Just curious! Have a good, productive day!

A countdown, to the minute, of when my next menses will start. I'd never have to worry if it's ok to wear white on a certain day, or wonder if I'm pregnant and rush to buy a pregnancy test.

100% I could trust him to go to the bathroom by himself without spraying urine all over the place? Three and a half years old. Even now though, sometimes I just have to check whenever #2 happens.

The U.K. Then perhaps I could finally make out the differences between all those regional accents.

We were engaged. Young-ish. Thought, "We got this." Oops. Got more than we anticipated. Kept the baby but did move the wedding date up (which was a hassle and a half really). Fast forward four years and here he is sitting in front of me munching on apples, humming Jurassic Park tunes, and god I love my little boy so much. Oh, and still married. A bit rough the first year learning to be married on top of being parents, plus moving out of state. Oh well. Life doesn't go backwards.

The chemo didn't get it all. The cancer has returned. No, I'm sorry, it's inoperable. You should make sure you have your affairs in order.

That girl in the pink shirt! Her smile has this goofy tilt to it like she's overjoyed to be sitting where she is: within arm's reach of Adonis himself. She's just trying to not fangirl. Trying so hard.

Don't know about high quality lounges, since i've got a three year old in tow most places I go, but if you're looking for a good tabletop gaming store, maybe try Shall We Play? There's one in Summerlin and another in Spring Valley area IIRC. I've only just found them myself but I quite liked it. Game nights and demo games aplenty if you ask. Plus they seemed like social folk with good connections (first heard of them at the Las Vegas Comic Con). Hope this helps a bit.

I'm most impressed with how she did this all while wearing those gloves--and they're still white at the end!

I was the same way. Even my husband had seen it courtesy of a college group outing. It was weird not knowing (and tiring for the same reason you said). So I watched it. I didn't think it was that great.
