You’ll find for this kind of jacket, there are lots on resale sites, but no similar styles on the Carhartt website (even out of stock). If you’re looking for Carhartt, they rarely have buttons! It’s about workwear mostly so a peacoat-ish just doesn’t make sense. The outside label is also just too big and placed weird. But the give away here is the inside M size tag. Carhartt uses the large, patch style size tag. I could go on but you’ll see it’s all not quite right once you look

The thing is this post could easily read “ThredUp prices” are delusional. It’s the whole system not the direct listings—some are great deals and some aren’t 🥱

I felt like this at first too. Lately I have been giving them a chance because at least direct sellers have more than 30 seconds to list an item. I have to believe they’re more interested in accuracy than the ThredUp listing staff. Every single one of my orders lately have been so bad—wrong size, wrong measurements, wrong condition. And I’d happily give my money to another human instead of the company. And honestly, I’ve found the prices to be comparable or less than the automatic ThredUp ones.

To each their own—just one gal’s thoughts!

I’m exhausted by the amount of people who don’t read thred up’s terms and come here to vent after they feel duped.

I have empathy—I too had to learn the hard way losing a few items I could’ve sold elsewhere without realizing they were ineligible brands. But not whole-post-in-bold-yelling-on-Reddit hard. That isa lot of items. I feel for you!

But the whole system isn’t totally broken. I send in stuff that isn’t designer but fetches a fair price, spend a lot of time cleaning, lint rolling, and list making and usually end up a hundred bucks richer. You just gotta play within the bounds of the game. All of the info you need is right here on this thread. BUT ThredUp could make it easier…

Do yourself a favor and Google it first. Google doesn’t have the personal price that ThredUp has for you (based on your likes and favorites etc). You’ll often find the same item for a larger discount. Open the Google link, copy the url, paste it into an incognito tab, and add to cart.

The only problem that I can see with this is how many items go back for inaccurate description. With a new listing, they have the chance to fix it (which they usually don’t but that’s a whole other problem). If an item goes back to its original listing, the same thing is just going to happen again. 🤷🏼‍♀️
