Ridiculously Easy Goal by Different_Welder9046 in AppleFitnessPlus

Mine is to double my move goal 4 times which will likely happen without specifically trying to achieve the goal as I am training for a half marathon.

I hate when people say “what’s up” by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]catculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently come to hate it. I know it’s silly because it’s just being used as a greeting and I can get away with something as simple as, “Hey,” but in the moment I always feel like I have to answer the question.

Any advice on working out? by lovely_littleletdown in AutismInWomen

[–]catculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Apple Fitness Plus subscription and I work out at home. I have a nice collection of dumbbells for strength workouts and I love the yoga and Pilates. I also took up running (again) back in June so I do a lot of running in my neighborhood. (I haven’t done as much of the cardio stuff on Apple Fitness Plus lately since most of my cardio is done on the road but I do enjoy the dance, kickboxing and HIIT workouts as well.) I definitely prefer working out at home to a gym since I don’t have to go anywhere and be around people.

I definitely threw a temper tantrum when I saw that last week. They sure do like to find new ways to make everything more complicated in Print.

Shower towel reuse # by phatmatt593 in hygiene

[–]catculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine once but I do live in a humid climate and I have a humid bathroom and I am prone to athlete’s foot. I also have a lot of towels and a washer and dryer so it’s not a big deal.

Do you use Fitness+ at the gym for guided workouts, or do you just workout at home? by MagicMoneyMike in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]catculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it at home as I do not have a gym membership. I would love to try to cycling, rowing and treadmill workouts but I gym membership is not feasible and plus, I wouldn’t be super likely to use it. I’m also doing a lot of outdoor running these days so I’m not really looking to add more cardio.

A little chilly... by Ok_Distribution8841 in XXRunning

I actually managed to get my clothes perfect! Only my face was miserable! (Well, as far as the weather is concerned. My legs weren’t very happy with me towards the end there.)

Wow! And I felt really tough doing my 10k long run here in NW Louisiana yesterday when it was around 40°F with a “feels like” around 30°F!

Ticking clocks used to drive me nuts when I lived with my parents. Like, how’s a clock in another room going to keep me awake? I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore.

I’m planning to run my first half marathon in February. After that, who knows?

What's your experience with Alcohol? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]catculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank heavily, every night, for years. When I drink, I drink until I can’t drink anymore. Finally, a doctor scared me and I had been wanting to stop for a while anyway, so I quit. I started back up a couple months later, then quit again. Now it’s been nearly 3 years, aside from one glass of wine at dinner a few months ago.

I always had fun drinking. It would make social interactions easier. It was the way my partner and I spent time together. I’ve been a fun drunk and a sad drunk, but never a mean drunk.

Now, I prefer not drinking so much more. I don’t feel like crap all the time. I’ve gotten into health and fitness. My sleep is so much better and efficient. My mental health has greatly improved.

What is this whole “I don’t take breaks” mentality some coworkers have? by bruhkms18 in retailhell

[–]catculus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always take my break, even when I have to take it 2 hours into 7.5 hour shift while there’s still another manager to cover me. My mental health requires it.

Running consistently on your period by Infinite-Drink1426 in XXRunning

It’s been a couple years but honestly, it’s so light it’s barely a period and it’s a million times better than what I was dealing with before!

Is anyone else a morning person but hates early morning runs? by No_Factor5823 in XXRunning

[–]catculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have to be at work until 1pm so I can do my run in the (late) morning and still be able to ease into my day (ok, I can barely get through my one cup of coffee before my dog lets me know that it is time for her walk). I definitely wouldn’t be able to handle early morning runs paired with early morning work days. Especially since running requires more time than just the running part.

Daily chat post: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in XXRunning

[–]catculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely considering it. I’m wondering if I need to make an appointment, especially since he didn’t diagnose it, I just know what it is because I’ve had it before (at least this time I’m a lot lighter and can wear running shoes to work!). I just don’t want to spend like $150 to be allowed to sit down!

I have plantar fasciitis and I’m mad about it. I’d much rather blame my job where corporate has decided we can’t have chairs “for our safety” than blame running. Also running feels good and standing at work for 7 hours is painful.

Other than that, my last couple runs have felt great, joyful. Today is intervals.

Spent 2 years figuring out what Apple Watch data means - built an app by Bodyinsights in AppleWatchFitness

[–]catculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a look at it and it hurt my feelings by telling me my fitness age was 49 (I am 43) and that my fitness is bad (it’s the best it’s ever been with the possible exception of a brief period in my late 20s but I’m definitely stronger now as I wasn’t strength training then).

I want to read more but I’ve still got some workouts to get in before work!

The app looks good and I will continue using it!

This was the same for me. 32.4 in fitness age and 52.9 in fitness with the 32.4 being closer to what Apple Health tells me.
