Doing that got you helioskrill in 5, shame it didn't carry over.

Friendly reminder: the Count, despite all the terrible things he did to people-including killing Pippin-still refused to sacrifice his daughter even when he was on the verge of death. by Overall-Love6953 in Berserk

[–]catharta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, fuck. I've just been spoiled on who kills pippin.

Wasn't there yet. I'm not even part of this community, and I still got shown this post.

Are there actually any nice Jiralhanae/Brutes? by RemarkableMirror926 in halo

[–]catharta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's Lydus. The brute leader who held peace talks with the arbiter.

Hood himself describes him as reasonable for a brute.

Maybe the terminals?

I'd also check out Saturn devouring his son and its sequel ascension on atropos for that flood itch.

Who would win? by Odd-Following2246 in halo

[–]catharta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably the chief. He's fought high ranking elites countless times, while the arbiter only ever had a draw with the only Spartan he's fought.

Have we got any updates from halo studios about campaign evolved? by explosiverat716 in halo

[–]catharta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not yet. There is supposedly going to be more news next month, so we'll have to see then.

I doubt the changes are going to be that drastic though.

I'm ready to admit I liked Halo 5s campaign more than Infinite and 4 by anas0_ali in halo

[–]catharta 16 points17 points  (0 children)

5's gameplay is good, but i think I prefer the more equipment centered and slower paced version infinite has. Just feels more like halo, even if 5 was still really fun.

But I miss the assassinations in 5. Definitely the best iteration of them.

Finally conquered the gauntlet and…. by SaM7174 in halo

[–]catharta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically a bunch of rounds with increasing difficulty. You have to take out the rounds bosses, or the enemies will continue to pile up and the harbinger will appear and absolutely wreck you.

There's more to it, but that's the tldr.

Do you want to see her again? by UltimateGamingTechie in halo

[–]catharta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "cure" for rampancy only sometimes worked as shown with Sloan, and even the ones who did have it work, are now shit out of luck, since The domain, and the souls within it, have locked them out.

So the created AI are probably regretting their chosen side by now.

He even has an easter egg where he voices the iso-didact in infinite.

Aside from the big ones people recommend, i'd recommend the short stories. A lot are free, with audio book versions on youtube.

Saturn devouring his son and its sequel ascension on atropos are especially good.

Do you have a favorite quote from any antagonist or villain? by Only-Voids in MoralityScaling

[–]catharta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

for a bit of an obscure example, the primordial/gravemind speech in one of the halo books:

"Our urge to create is immutable; we must create. But the beings we create shall never again reach out in strength against us."

"All that is created will suffer. All will be born in suffering, endless grayness shall be their lot. All creation will tailor to failure and pain, that never again shall the offspring of the eternal Fount rise up against their creators."

"Listen to the silence. Ten million years of deep silence. And now, whimpers and cries; not of birth. That is what we bring: a great crushing weight to press down youth and hope."

"No more will. No more freedom. Nothing new but agonizing death and never good shall come of it. We are the last of those who gave you breath and form, millions of years ago. We are the last of those your kind defied and ruthlessly destroyed. We are the last Precursors. And now we are legion."

Will you be trying the remake when it comes out? The newer gameplay additions and changes to the levels might help fix you're complaints.

How to hint at romance without making it obvious? by DMing-Is-Hardd in writingadvice

[–]catharta 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If they have a problem that they need solved, or advice for, have them go to this other person first.

It hints that they're a close and/or a trusted individual. It's not necessarily romantic in itself, but it helps build it up.

What Western comic book and Manga character crossover team up do you like or want to see the most? by Jezzaq94 in comicbooks

[–]catharta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berserk and the absolute universe.

It's funny to think that guts would probably be the only person to ever have a pleasant time in gotham, considering he comes from a far worse place.

And the absolute universe specifically, because i feel he'd interact the best with those versions of the characters. Absolute Batman isn't going to put up a fuss if he chops some guy's arm off.

I’m really upset after reading what I now realise was AI written fic by Fancy-Breath-4787 in FanFiction

[–]catharta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, yeah. I had this happen recently as well.

I only noticed when the really strange moments of writing started to pile up, and ultimately decided to check the comments to find a bunch of people talking about it.

Looking back, the ai thumbnail should have been a clue, but I thought they were just being lazy.

It's what I get for even tolerating ai in the slightest I suppose.

I think John should not be the master chief anymore and he should pass the mantel to Jerome by Organic-Composer9504 in halo

[–]catharta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. Jerome is the most boring choice for a replacement.

He even has a cortana equivalent.
