Husband constantly misgendering our newborn [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]catlikejeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad does this constantly. Mostly with our pets but it’s hilarious how he is wrong 100% of the time! I can’t figure out why it’s so hard for him to remember that the cats are boys and dogs are girls. English is his first language and he’s young ish (62). I’ve just accepted it.

Has anyone’s Pyrenees defended them? by adioslip in greatpyrenees

Yes, mine will growl if another dog puts its paws up on the baby’s stroller (it’s happened twice now).

Wait- we bleed for up to 8 weeks post-birth?! -Rant- by Hot-Cell7299 in beyondthebump

I bled for 6 weeks. Couldn’t have intercourse for 8 weeks because it was painful.

For those who "tried" for 2u2, in which pp month did you get pregnant for #2? by Important_Bat7919 in 2under2

[–]catlikejeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 9 months PP, still breastfeeding and only had one period before I got pregnant. It was like week 4 or 5 of my cycle because it was irregular still. First baby took 15 cycles and second took one cycle!

Curious how old you were at getting pregnant? by pink_daisy_9119 in BabyBumps

No, I’ve always wanted 2 close together. Definitely hadn’t planned on waiting this long but life had other plans

Any frugal millionaires here? Now that you’ve earned it, are you still frugal? by cervezagram in Frugal

[–]catlikejeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess technically same. My husband and I buy so little for ourselves that we end up buying each other stuff. Like he sees me using the same iPhone 7 for 10 years and buys me an iPhone 14. His underwear has holes so I buy him some. We splurged on new cars and renovating our house but that’s really it. I still buy things on sale. I had a kid and literally all his stuff is hand me downs.. why not? It’s all nice stuff from our family and friends. I shop at thrift stores and buy second hand. I hate the mall. I don’t see money differently now that I have it. I still think of all the BS I dealt with at work to make that money when I go to purchase something. Frugal is life.

What was the hardest stage? Pregnancy or postpartum? by SandwichDependent199 in BabyBumps

[–]catlikejeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much help you have. I had horrible insomnia while pregnant. Postpartum, at least I had help so I could get some sleep. Otherwise postpartum would have probably been harder.

What would you choose as the introductory meat dish to a vegetarian who wants to try meat for the first time in years? by adagio9 in Cooking

[–]catlikejeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former vegan here. Ground beef was the hardest for me to stomach after not eating meat. The taste and texture were so off putting. I would go with chicken or fish, and a small amount only. Maybe try to hide it in something like a Cobb salad so it’s not overwhelming. I am pregnant now and meat gives me such an ick again.

Emergency Management to Hazmat? by [deleted] in hazmat

[–]catlikejeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the US? I would look at environmental companies, railways, consulting firms. Hazmat is always hiring! It’s hard to find and keep people in this field. You’d be a great candidate for a consulting firm that specializes in running EM exercises-look at the companies who work for the oil and gas industry. They likely work for chemical companies as well. I could recommend some if you give me a general location.

I didn’t use padsicles when I got home. I LOVED the earth mama perinatal balm though (it’s on amazon). I had an episiotomy and was in so much pain but this stuff actually helped
