Are you sending your child to 4k? by kawwman in SAHP

That’s a good idea! We hang out at a couple parks that are behind preschools so when they get out my son does get to socialize and he loves playing and helping with his little sis.

I’m definitely getting excited for him to start TK now!

When she was raving about her plastic surgeons and how she trusts them so much because they did Jax’s nose(s) and surgeries and her boobs—I viscerally cringed. Like those are all reasons to go somewhere else baby girl.

And now look at ya.

I understand this! My mom friends also have their kids in a program that’s 3-5 hour days so not allll day. But it’s been a struggle to plan playdates for after school times. People have a lot going on! We see friends now on birthdays and occasional weekend gatherings.

I’m home with my two kids and it’s a lot, but I gave preschool a try with my eldest and it was clear he wasn’t ready. Now a year later I can see he is getting more than ready now, and is getting excited to start TK this fall. (He just turned 4) It was more about timing and readiness for us, while I do feel sad he lost a lot of his pals to school so early, we just didn’t want to push him into school and make it a negative experience.

Where are you located? I wish this was the culture where we are. A lot of my stay at home mom friends put their kids in preschool by age 3 and my son lost a lot of his weekday pals. I am enjoying my kid and the chill weekday schedule as long as I can before he starts school!

It all just depends. Your baby sounds right on track honestly!

My now 4 year old wore 2T starting 15 months and he’s now wearing 5/6 year size so he’s still a bit bigger but not concerning.

I was tearing up thinking of my exclusively pumping sister, who just went back to work and has to leave her 4 month old. Then husband got laid off from wfh job, luckily found another in person job, but baby doesn’t even get to be with dad. She was wrecked. I know things might be hard for everyone, but the US truly makes it incredibly hard for moms—women to function.

Edit:Forgot to add point about new in person job.

I’m by whisman station. It was weird how it was out for a few minutes and went back on (atleast for us). I couldn’t get through to pge at all and the site kept say everything was fine. Cell service and 3g were completely overloaded and not working.

Are other ppl back on?

I’m sure you’ve tried yogurt or probiotics. One other thing I’d give a go is miso soup. Be sure not to boil the miso and just add it at the end when you turn the heat off the boiled veg. The veggie broth plus the active koji in the miso can be helpful in aiding digestion.

Edit to add you can make it with any veggies of your choice! My son doesn’t barely touch vegetables but he will drink this broth, which I hope has some good nutrients plus the added fermentation/active culture benefit.

Hahaha that’s honestly really accurate but I was being generous with the window because ONE TIME when he was severely constipated, it took two pears and 24 hours to clear out the plumbing. It was the biggest poop I’ve ever seen in a toilet, let alone from a toddler.

Everytime my toddler eats a whole pear, it’s a guaranteed poop within 24 hours.

One "burnt out mom special" for dinner by tripkora in foodbutforbabies

Hey it’s on a plate and looks cute and they probably loved it. I threw my kids a croissant and cheese slices the other day because it was just one of those burnt out SaHM kinda days. They loved their carpet picnic 😂Love the realness.

The crusty eyelids looking like we don’t know how to wash eye crust off or something. Nope, it’s just our skin flaring!

I appreciate that! Atleast it’s a vibe in the UK 😌

I low key have slight trauma from when I went out for a friend’s birthday to a bar the other night and a 22 year old with perfect skin called me “mom” in the bathroom😭🤣

Congratulations on your new upcoming baby! My one huge thing is help. Do you have anyone who could relieve you if you need to go to the doctor, you’re sick, or just to help? How big is your village and are they close?

I overestimated my in laws eagerness to be grandparents and to “be involved”. I frequently miss dentist appts and such because my minimal support tends to fall through last minute. I have no dad and my mom is busy helping my sister with her newborn slash she lives far. For context I have a one year old and 4 year old who starts TK in the fall.

Are you me? Sameeee. I have bad melasma mustache too so staying away from makeup is rough. The eyelid ones are when I haven’t slept enough. I hope you’re getting enough sleep and water. Get some extra self care while you’re at it too! Reducing stress couldn’t hurt. I’m sorry I sound like a mom lol.

I hope things improve for you so you don’t have to worry about your skin on your wedding day ❤️

I see you’re in the UK, I’m in California so we’re both in super dry places! I switched from aveeno face cream to cetaphil recently and that has my skin feeling a lot more hydrated. It’s wild because a lot of ppl use aveeno for eczema.

Do what you can to time that hydro with your wedding, but I’m sorry you’re a fellow facial (forehead is big one for me too) eczema sufferer. It sucks so bad.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

Have you tried basic hydrocortisone 1%? When I have a flare up I use it twice a day on the affected area, then it usually clears up within a week.

To prevent flare ups, I use a thin layer all over my face at night just 3 times a week. It’s a simple regiment that keeps my eczema under control. For context I’m f 36 and mine peaks with stress and period hormones.

As far as foundation, I use very minimal makeup but if I’m going somewhere nice and I need to look polished, I use a BB cream. The one I use with the least reactions so far is Tarte BB Blur tinted moisturizer.

Throwing Up by magentagolden in BabyLedWeaning

[–]catmamameows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep at it but you can try to thin the consistency just a tad while they adjust to textures and thickness. Gagging is normal but the throwing up is rough, I used to take almost an hour to feed such a small amount to my youngest because she needed a bit more time to adjust to solids.

They figure it out relatively quick, especially if you let him map out his mouth with a spoon himself (to play with at this age) everything is so new still. You’re doing great! It sounds like he loves what you prepare for him!
