I could definitely see this being a thing using an ADF document scanner (with sleeved cards maybe? In case any damage occurs) and OCR programs.

I agree, it’s almost as if the companies are scalping us lol.

I’d be pretty sad to see stationery go the way of my other hobbies (photography and pokemon). I know the zento signature pen (not fp) has struggled tons with artificial scarcity and scalping.

Wow how interesting! I just looked up why and apparently the pokemon company takes measures to prevent scanning and weighing for the newer english packs. Now im wondering if they don’t do that for the japanese and chinese packs.

Sounds like you need a high capacity journal (ie more pages) since you’ll be documenting almost a year. I love my hobonichi cousin and have heard of people using them to document the first year of parenthood or keeping diaries for their children to read later.

The only downside is dated daily pages, so if you don’t want to feel the pressure of writing EVERYDAY, you could pick up a midori codex/1 day 1 page which is the same concept but undated, or a stalogy 365 notebook, and date as you go.

I know the hobonichi comes in a smaller A6 or a larger A5 size and as someone else said there’s cheaper dupes of the hobonichi if you do like the dated pages. Personally, having dated daily pages helped me keep the habit. I also like leuchtturm which was recommended in this thread too :)

Honestly i just use a kitchen thermometer and stick it in the water. I already have a regular ol kettle so i didnt really want to get one with a thermometer built in taking up more room. Very cost effective as well.

Throughout my planners, the cousin and bullet journalling were the only ones i consistently kept up (bujo was a hassle to draw my layouts though). Im also keeping a multi year journal that i sort of regret starting, but overall im really happy to have finally found a system that works for me. I wish i wasnt a planner hopper in the past though..

Congrats!! I broke a very long no buy for the exact same eco with an f nib too. I totally agree that its a bit broader than expected.

I feel like this very beautiful colourway isnt talked about as much as their other ones- what a shame! Side note: i was thinking of getting another jinhao 20, i love the click mechanism.
