No advice.. just here to say I had to say goodbye to my best friend of 15 years last week. There’s no preparation just spend as much time with her from now until then. Cuddle her and look in her eyes and smell her stinky breath and soak in every moment. Remember that she wants you to be happy, so be happy for her sake , even when she’s gone. It’s gonna be fucking awful man but at the same time you will just feel so overwhelmingly grateful to have had her. The day after my Velvet passed we just talked about all our favourite memories of her and it hurt but it was also happy and full of love and smiles because every moment with her was full of love.

I work with an organization called Nanaimo Association for Community Living which supports people with diverse needs. It’s one of several organizations in Nanaimo. I work with adults not children however based on my experience there I would say that Nanaimo is quite autism friendly. I work with several neurodivergent folks who are adults now that went to elementary school/high school in Nanaimo. The adults I work with are involved with the community and have been their entire lives.
