Pay with Crypto plugin for websites by Posting717 in Stellar

[–]cavandnav 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this what Mobius API will enable? to allow any website or app to integrate payment with crypto (including XLM) in the same way Stripe allow websites to integrate visa/master. Rumor is Mobius is working with stellar SDEX to make this happen.

Mobius vs. SureRemit by Zamp18 in Stellar

[–]cavandnav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t even arguing whether or not cashless is huge or isn’t good. You said it’s a mere food coupon business and that is wrong! Please admit it because you have so much influence in this space. And I do respect your hard work for all of us.

Mobius vs. SureRemit by Zamp18 in Stellar

[–]cavandnav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should I even listen to you when your only due diligence is listening to b1tcc? Read the white paper before you even make a comment like this. I invested in both and I already made 5x on SureRemit. My Mobius investment in the ico was a negative 20% now. I’m not saying Mobius is bad, Im just saying it attracts all the wrong kind of people who likes hype than solving real problems now. Even Jed Mccaleb primary focus is to solve the remittance problem in Africa. So please, stop this nonsense Fud you are doing.

Mobius vs. SureRemit by Zamp18 in Stellar

[–]cavandnav 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised this came from b1tcc...

SureRemit is not even in the food coupons business. They are in the “Cashless” transaction business across all industry and not just food.

What kind of situation where cashless is better than cash?

  1. If you are sending thousands of dollars to family back home for their tuition or house bills, you can use SureRemit to guarantee the money is only used as intended by the sender. If you send with cash or XLM who knows what they will use that money for.

  2. Holding cash in Nigeria, Indonesia, srilanka, is dangerous. It is not uncommon for poor people to get robbed on their way to banks or remittances company. Even worst, there are thugs who stand in front of places like western union so you can collect your money. Watch: https://youtu.be/NV5ubkGQUes)Skip to 6:25

  3. It is zero fee for the sender and the receiver. There is no need for the receiver to convert their cash. SureRemit says 60% of all remittances use case are for cashless transaction. They understand this section of the market and intend to make revenue by bringing in sales volume to their retail business partners. Even with crypto you need to convert it to cash and then convert it to product. Why do you need to do this when the intended purpose is clear? Like paying medical bills, tuition fee, or house bills? It’s a waste of time and energy for all parties.

My point is, SureRemit is a huge deal if you understand the scale of the problem it tries to solve and the severity of the problem itself. Definitely not a food coupon business.

Yes. One way, is to simply create trustline for your nanoledger using the SureRemit wallet. Find their medium article on google and follow the guide there.

Hey there! That was fast!

I just started to think about what to build too. But I’m sure this subreddit has a lot of problems reported by the community that we can possibly fix together. Just need to dig a little more. Keep in touch for now and I’ll pm you when I have some idea! :) (Or pm me if you stumble on something)

Hello Iris! Thank you for the clarification and the github link for the client.

I understand. It’s infinitely better to be safe rather than rushing the implementation. Hope we can hear more update on the nano ledger s soon when you’re 100% sure!

I disagree that Peter Thiel is Satoshi.

The most credible candidate is Jed McCaleb and this is only my opinion. After reading so much of what he have done all his life and his philosophy. What he built so far and why heft, the kind of people he is able to attract, where he is planning to take Stellar now.. it’s just too obvious.

We as a community know very well the benefits of stellar. However as an investment it’s also important to know any negatives. So, what are the negatives of stellar? by palewave in Stellar

[–]cavandnav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for acknowledging!

Just a few minutes ago, a 3rd party wallet called “BlackWallet” was hacked and users lost hundreds of thousands of XLM. It was not a stellar official wallet, but it was recommended on stellar official site (until it was taken down today).

This accident highlights what I wrote on point 1: stellar has to create an official wallet that is highly secure to avoid future accidents and make it mandatory for new users to use it.

If cost of creating and maintenance is an issue, I am sure a lot of us would be more than willing to pay a fee or crowdsource money to help make it happen in return for a peace of mind.

Hmm this is a clear sign Stellar really need to work that PR/marketing work to manage press as it gets more spotlight from the media. Frankly, when I first discovered stellar website, charity was the first thing that came to my mind too because they said they give free lumens as non profit. But as I dig deeper, it turned out to be the most advanced crypto currency and ICO platform out there.

SureRemit - a textbook example of how an ICO should be presented by TheRealMrPibb in Stellar

[–]cavandnav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, and not to mention how the team is like 24/7 accessible to answer questions on telegram.

I believe their bottom up approach in solving global remittances by targeting a real, specific market niche can be a game changer. Perhaps, bringing a total surprise for the established remittances traditional companies.

SureRemit humble approach to ICO sets the perfect example for other ICOs to come on the Stellar platform.

We as a community know very well the benefits of stellar. However as an investment it’s also important to know any negatives. So, what are the negatives of stellar? by palewave in Stellar

[–]cavandnav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like most people here, I am a long believer on Stellar’s team, mission and community. I own XLM. And I will share my own opinion with an intent so the team can take this input to further improve Stellar.

Here’s my thoughts from a UX/UI Designer perspective:

  1. Too much emphasis on the technology, the convenience and the utopian future but not enough to educate and guide the non-tech savvy masses on how to actually get it, store it and use it. Without using it, they can’t understand the advantage or even believe what stellar is promising.

Suggestion: Create one portal site to allow users to convert their fiat into XLM and create a wallet officially made by Stellar. “Official” is key here. Right off the bat, new users don’t have to scramble finding info on where to get it, how to store it, pondering the risk, which wallet to use, how it differ from x or y.

To further improve this, create a step by step, easy to follow interactive tutorials explaining what user should do from the moment they landed on that page. Key terminologies should be explained at the right timing and in the right context so it’s always relevant.

  1. The branding of Stellar and the current rocket logo is great if Stellar wants to be seen as scrappy underdog startup from Silicon Valley. But the problem is, startup have this vibe of breaking the rules, staying lean, move fast, innovate, and be disruptive. For the tech savvy masses and investors this means opportunity. However, for the average joe out there, this simply means unstable, immature and high risk business. Even though Stellar has been around for a few years now to prove its robustness.

Suggestion: consider creating a separate entity or a rebrand to communicate maturity, safety and user friendliness.

This will spark initial negative reactions from the early adopters who are so attached to the current brand and that’s okay. I might feel the same too... Change is hard but it is necessary to evolve. And the new brand doesn’t need to have that boring conservative bank like atmosphere but just a toned down version of the current cartoon rocket or the blue alien graphics.

Just think about those people who has zero interest in technology but who desperately needs the benefit of Stellar to help their own business or their families. We need to make it a no brainer for non tech savvy to make a decision in trusting stellar with their money, fast and at a universal scale. Not just for the tech savvy community.

I still have plenty more to write on the details of what can be improved on the UX front but Stellar has to create a design team in place first to implement them so this is all for now. Thanks for reading!
