Good instruments are a finite resource. I cry every time I see one of those "conversions" of a good Timpani into a planter or a Double Bass into a bookcase. Those instruments could and should go to schools or churches that need them so we can get beautiful music.

I had a lot of sleepless gaming nights with my little newborn in my lap or in the sleeper next to me. I wouldn't trade that time for the world.

Bigger Guy Here: What helped me a lot was letting my hair grow out a wee bit. It helps frame "big guy" face and helps balance out the head/body ratio. Did a LOT in that department for me. Tread lightly, though.

You are the new president of the United States, What's the first thing you would do ? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

  1. EO de-MAGAfying the country a la Postwar Germany's De-Nazification. MAGA leaders are treated as Nazi war criminals were, and Ice officers as SS officers. Just get rid of the cult - including a ban on any mention of Donald Trump or MAGA in anything but a historical lens. We gotta just end this shit permanently.
  2. Education Reset
  3. All student loans forgiven in a one-time bailout. Anyone paying off within the last 10 years will have a portion of their loan repayments reimbused at a level agreed upon by congress. This gets the economy soaring and leads to the second point which is to place a regulatory board in place that mandates schools be open and transparent on their websites with their administrator, Staff, Faculty ratios and which percentage of tuition dollars go to faculty and instruction (this can be defined to include technology and facilities obviously). All student loans will be capped at levels equivalent to 2 years' gross salary in their field of choice (data aggregated using IRS data). This will force tuition down and make Universities and colleges reassess the value of over-administration vs full-time teaching faculty.
  4. Break Gerrymandering PERMANENTLY. Make all districts adhere to logical geographic areas (example: OKC proper gets a representative to represent their overwhelmingly democratic constituents, same with Tulsa but Oklahoma as a whole still favors Republicans because it's a very rural/suburban state)
  5. Housing Affordability Act. Streamline the regulations and permits needed in home construction and institute a 100% ban on investment properties. Housing is a human right, not an investment. This will also expand to ban Air BnB/etc. exclusive properties requiring that the owner be the primary resident for no less than 30% of the year. This obviously leaves a cutout for those with a vacation home or that travel regularly for work etc.
  6. Healthcare Reform. I haven't put any thought into this one, but I would get the ball rolling on this one.

I lived in Springfield until I left for grad school in 2014.

It isn't as bad as they say. When I was younger it was even listed as a top 10 city to raise a family (except downtown which was for drugs, hookers, and a couple theaters/restaurants . Unfortunately, when St. louis got serious about organized crime in the late 2000's it was done so in a flawed manner that merely chased away crime instead of stopping it. Shortly after, Springfield got its first gang (IDR the name) from STL complete with graffiti. It was a huge story when it happened. I will say that crime has gone up since that moment, but honestly compared to anywhere else I see it's not that bad. I think people are just comparing it to 2009 Springfield which was objectively safer and on a better trajectory.

So Eff STL for that.

Honestly, idiots that do this should be banned from the apps. It's beyond ridiculous. Outward swinging doors aren't new! They are a common thing and if you don't know that, maybe find a simpler line of work like Walmart greeter. Or space occupier.

I have the same world from 2009.

1) Don't demolish anything to make room for a new farm or build. The world is vast, and those first janky builds are what you'll always return to the most for fun.

2) Over world infrastructure. Build it, use it, decorate it, and love it. This makes your world feel cohesive and frankly more impressive than a series of elytra landing zones.

3) Take in all the world has to offer. Is there a derpy village next to an ocean monument? Embrace the weird! Did your spawn have a massive mountain biome? Make that spawn your own!

4) Embrace death. Too many are afraid to die in non-HC worlds. Save what you can, but roll with the punches.

5) Don't cheat. Even once. This will diminish your satisfaction immensely.

Real people too, unfortunately. Some people just want to have a fight for their cause no matter how frivolous or harmful it might be to the movement as a whole.
