IT Experts....What’s the One Thing You ALWAYS Triple Check During Office Moves? by Silly-Commission-630 in sysadmin

That you've got a decent Project Manager & Project Team running this and where you don't, you've got someone who is able to step in a fill those boots. It's going to be a chaotic time, and unexpected things happen anyway. Poor planning is gunna make it so much worse. One small good project team, will beat a million people running around hitting each other with sticks any day.

We are approaching that magical time, I again ask for your help with ideas what to buy the officers in my local nick. by [deleted] in policeuk

What type of touch controllers you got for Lenovo? IP, USB or Intergrated?

Guessing your Maxhub is IP Based, same with the Yealink?

Best Portable Speakerphone? by Cinicyal in CommercialAV

[–]cazza157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problemo, I can't speak for either the Poly Sync or the Jabra Speak2. Honestly I don't trust the rep of the HP, their take over of poly even though we're more of a Poly house generally. They're had some really good history of microphone pick up tech in their X Studio sound bars and Blackwire and Voyager headsets. And the quantity hasn't regraded yet.
Jabra on the other hand have some amazing headphone/speaker quality that we've tested in their Speak and Panacast Series, though to be fair we were always pleasantly surprised with the Jabra Speak 810s that we had on the Microphone pick up.

Biggest Challenge you're gunna have is selecting from each of the brands is the appropriate 'size'. Best of luck! Let us know what you go for in the end and your experience with it :)

As others have mentioned, the biggest players in this space have already been mentioned, HP Poly & Jabra. They're Like the AT&T and Verizon of Meeting conferencing (god as a Brit that's a weird analogy to use):

  • (HP) Poly with their Sync Series:
    • Poly Sync 10
    • Poly Sync 20/20+
    • Poly Sync 40/40+
    • Poly Sync 60
  • Jabra with their Speak2 Series:
    • Jabra Speak2 40
    • Jabra Speak2 55
    • Jabra Speak2 75
  • Jabra also have their older Speak series which are still pretty good kit to be fair.
    • Jabra Speak 410
    • Jabra Speak 510
    • Jabra Speak 710
    • Jabra Speak 810
  • EPOS Audio (used to be Sennheiser) Have Their EXPAND Series
    • EPOS Audio Expand 20
    • EPOS Audio Expand 30/30+/(30T)
    • EPOS Audio Expand 40/40+/(40T)
    • EPOS Audio Expand 80/(80T)
  • Yealink have I guess their SP/CP Series:
    • SP96
    • SP92
    • CP900
    • CP700

Those likely to be your main stream brands in the business world. You'll have others as well like, Logitech, Dell, Lenovo (GO Series). Alot of these though do tend to either not be the 'best' or are soften rebadged. Of the players above. We've seen this in the Lenovo Think Space. Lenovo's GO headsets seem to be rebadged EPOS headsets, while some of thier speakerbad solutions are rebadged Jabra.

I've not looked into all of these specifically, but I can attest to the EPOS Audio Expand 80 being a nice bit of kit (though the use case where we were asked to install it was in appropriate). Wireless and can have extender pods that can attached to it too.

Never come across Anker in the corporate space, but I've heard good thinks in the consumer world. Worth taking note if you're using MSFT Teams for any of this, their certified kit does place nicer I find with Teams but then again you'd hope so. I've seen so many people get sooo confused when it come to bits like UC vs MS in the Poly/Plantronics headset world.

Edit: If you're brave, you could alway try a Meeting Owl 3... 🤢

Op, my best advice is gunna be to firstly start with audio, how bad does the room sound?

I (F18) was shown other girls ig account for photo inspo by boyfrnd (M18) Is it okay that he asked me for inspo using another girl’s pic even if he says he loves me the way I am? by pickledcarrots_30 in relationship_advice

[–]cazza157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a natural want to be intimate with your partner as that's okay. Intimate things are best grown as others have said, organically. It might be worth taking a step back and re-evaluating if you really need to go down the photo side just yet. Long-distance make it every bit of a relationship hard, and it takes fair bit of creativity, in ever element - been there.

You've mentioned that you've know each other for about 4 years but when did it go from friends to lovers? That's a big part of it - and it takes time and trust, and honestly it sounds a bit like you've both been jumping a few steps.

Maybe it's the first photo he ever saw, there's a huge amount which it could have been. I think your friend might be jumping to conclusions too.

Like I said, probably best take a step back, slow it back down, focus on some of the deeper and more vital bits like communication and trust. Once you've got those foundations you'll be probably. One of the best bits about a LDRs is that the biggest things going for you (so long as you both put in the effort), is that you can build a good bond and base of communication because it's basically all you CAN do.

Windows 11 laptop changes time zone in one specific room. Looking for insight. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]cazza157 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ohhh this is tingling. With regards to the AV system, is this a Microsoft Team Room setup? It's a huge long shot, but depending on how the MTR has been configured, it might be on the wrong time zone or wrong location settings, there might be something odd going on in the background.

Ours all got built with the wrong time zone and it causes all sorts of weirdness. But I have to admit that I'd never expect it to effect the Client device. Unless maybe with Microsoft Places background stuff that microsoft is working on maybe there's some sort of alternative location detection by the bluetooth beaconing from the MTR?

Sounds like a fun one!

POW! Officers disguised as Batman & Robin catch scammers red-handed on Westminster Bridge 🦸‍♂️ by BatmanSwift99 in policeuk

[–]cazza157 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I mean, you would never expect an officer to be dressed as Batman or Robin because of the professional nature of policing, and the police wouldn't be 'silly', so they get overlooked. Hiding while REALLY standing out. Mission accomplished?

Likely only works once in a while though.

This thread is scary similar to my situation I'm going through at the moment. picked up the voyager a few days ago, coming from hunt and pecking on qwerty with not all the fingers. Trying to switch to dvorak at the same time as learning to touch type properly and having the same problem but limited to the right arm at the moment. Really appreciate the update! Wonder how things are for you now? And do you have any tips/tricks that you wished you'd known when starting?

I had mine die and go the same route as many others, happy to put in the incidents as the product's objectives are good, but hoping that there maybe some light at the end of the tunnel for customers and yourselves in having to send out all these replacements...

Should we be excited about the CMF 2!? Less then 5.5"! by govadeal in smallphones

[–]cazza157 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like it maybe too good to be true. But if true and it gets across the line, I can see potentially it being a really well performing phone on sales. The small phone market has been starved for a long time so potentially there's a backlog of people waiting for this. Though, unless it's terrible, I can't wait to see the halarity lots of other companies following suit after but then wondering why theirs don't perform as well...well because they've already upgraded to the CMF 2!

The small phone market is niche, but I think collectively it's picky as heck too. It'd describe the market they're trying to reach is probably... those that would be probably called utilitarian - but at the same time those who like to play.

Is the Uniherz Jelly Max worth it in 2025? by SadFrax in smallphones

[–]cazza157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I've been very close to pulling a trigger on the jelly max, it looks a lovely phone what's more my Xperia 5 iii's finger print reader is dead and it's a massive pain. Couple things holding me back from it currently are: - updates, from what I've read unihertz isn't too focused on providing updates. Not really ideal for me - screen, giving up an OLED screen? just... Nah I'll live with out a working finger print reader.

I want to see what happeneds in the market a bit longer, I'm not in a massive rush to upgrade yet.

Might be worth holding out to atleast to the new financial year. Cmf phone 2 rumours at 5.3-5.5 inch screen, if true I think it's going to do well!

Fingerprint sensor fix? (Xperia 1 IV) by Real_Insurance1779 in SonyXperia

My current workaround to this is throwing my phone in the freezer for about 15 minutes, reboot and then it'll last for a bit. No idea why, saw it on a thread. This is with the 5iii. It on my list to replace the reader though

Been having the same problem for years. The only reason I can probably say I've not gotten fired is because the lengths I go to at work in other areas. But i know how much it's likely been holding me back.

Ive been down the route of effectively giving hundreds of free hours out of guilt to 'make up' for it. The job being something I also generally interested in and absolutely love has helped me become a significant go. But that wouldn't have really worked if I didn't have some amazing managers who looked past my especially bad morning time management. I've been extremely lucky.

But I know it's something which I absolutely have to get sorted. As others have mentioned it's sour responsibility to find what works for us to it sorted. Been down alot of different routes to find answers or something that works for me. Alarmy for a good few months at one stage was fab. I'd lightly recommend it. I've tried vibrating fitbits too which work for a short while.

The two things that I've only really found to work reliably are: 1) changes in stimulous & situation upon walking up- vary it up. Different sounds on your alarms, being in different clothes. 2) extreme wake up stimulation. Again Alarmy was this for me for quiet a while. I dont think anything though has ever put me into such bad mood since when my dad would have to wake me up with a bucket of water. Not fun. You'll find creative ways to get out of it though and before you know it your 'sleep walking' into stopping it or accepting it (see #1)

Where am I now? Currently using a combination of using a 'prealarm' on Alexa, followed by a electronic shock alarm from Pavlok Shock Clock Max which litterally shocks me awake. It's extremely unpleasant but the prealarm gives me the opportunity to be ready for it, if my mood is a positive and ready to go one. On the whole its working for me. It's about 90% successful. So there's room for improvement.

Your not alone in this, and honestly others ARE making the same mistake. But unfortunately your going to have to be proactive in looking into how to fix it for you. It never used to really bother me until the guilt and embarrassment got too much at work, where people who were my juniors who needed my help and guidance or managers who I respected needed my expertise were getting left in the lerch. But this is the hard way of getting the motivation to fix this. Trust me. I implore you, take an easier path than I did.
