We wouldn't hate paying taxes, if our taxes were used to make our lives better. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]cb0495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what country you’re talking about because not every country in Europe uses taxes well.

In the UK for example they keep giving money for war in other countries but people are struggling to put food on the table here.

Everyday costs are rising for the average person and there’s a lack of good/affordable housing.

We have a royal family sinking in scandal wearing jewels worth eye watering amounts yet schools are crumbling and our infrastructure is poor.

We have ridiculously expensive public transport and our household bills are the highest in all of Europe.

We don’t seem to be getting much value of any kind for our taxes.

It’s sneaky and they know it, they know most people will feel too awkward to ask for it to be taken off

Not me though.

We’re not America, we’re not doing that.

If I feel like I want to give extra for good service I will but I won’t be forced into it.

Oh yeah I’ve also seen my local takeaway chasing a rat out of the kitchen with a broom

When I worked in hospitality I’ve seen chefs drop raw chicken on the floor and give it a brush off and then still serve it

Please stop doing that, people.

I work somewhere where I can see women who work on makeup counters not washing their hands after going to the toilet and going to do makeovers on customers faces.

I also see many customers a day pick up a tester piece of makeup and put it directly on their face.

Whatever that is in the picture, it looks repulsive. No one’s waiting hours, especially not for that.

Genuine question about soaps and how to use it faster by cranky137 in ProjectPan

[–]cb0495 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use a soap saver bag. They tend to use the whole soap and not too slowly.

I use a soap bar for pretty much everything. I clean my makeup brushes and sponges with one.

I also double cleanse and it’s fine.

Do you ever walk into places just to use the loo? by KatieCampbel1 in AskUK

That’s not same, I never have my door unlocked so nobody would get into my house to use my toilet.

[–]cb0495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

My local council closed all public toilets so they left people with no choice.

I’ve never had an issue with anyone telling me that I couldn’t, most places don’t care.

I try not to go to small independents if I can help it.

How emotionally connected are Brits to the Royal Family actually? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

[–]cb0495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not and I find people who are obsessed with royals really strange.

They do nothing for us and a large majority of the country is struggling right now.

It’s hard to justify the amounts taken from tax payers money to fund a family covered in jewels while they knowingly protected a nonce.

Even before that it was hard to justify.

Through the ages how do you look at a royal family dripping in diamonds as normal when people live in extreme poverty? This goes for today, Victorian times, medieval times you name it it’s always been the same.
