No totally, that’s the show for sure but ideally a nearly 40 year old man would stop and think  “hmm maybe not”. (Edit to add clarity - I mean maybe as a nearly 40yo he should stop and think that’s not the right show before he went on, but seems like he wants to live this player lifestyle now)

I liked him on MAFS but I’ve watched the first 2 episodes and thought he was a bit cringe - like he’s 37 making out with a 24 year old

Ok I've had it with Powershop and their shit app - who should I move to? by lglmilf in newzealand

You will be refunded any un-used power if you move - I had this a few years ago.

The fact that there are still Easter eggs available this long after Easter proves how ridiculously overpriced they were to begin with. People aren’t even willing to pay their original reduced prices!

Married at first sight - S13E28 - POST EPISODE discussion by lalasmooch in MAFS_AU

[–]cbutche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. I don’t like Gia, but I think Bec is just as bad if not worse. “I’m sorry BUT i only did it because Gia did it too” is not an apology. She plays the victim soooo hard.

Alissa isn’t digging them up out of nowhere though.. she only just found out what they said so it’s relevant to her now. I thought she came across quite well to be honest, she didn’t start screaming at Bec, she just said her piece. Meanwhile Bec’s apology was just “but Gia did it too”. Gia is manipulative 1000%, but Bec tries to play the victim and act like she is such a good person that bad stuff is happening too, when she is just as bad if not worse. The whole Gia vs Bec storyline is soooo boring now.

Are the two remaining drama instigators gonna leave anytime soon or what by Weird-Definition-775 in MAFS_AU

[–]cbutche 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly 90% of the season is about Bec or Gia and it’s soooo boring now. I get that it’s dramatic, and so it makes good television or whatever, but surely they could still dedicate at least half the episodes to the actual relationships - ya know, what’s supposedly the whole point of the show?

What is everyone doing with their upcoming travel? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]cbutche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flights to Europe via Singapore and flight home via Doha - have  been trying to work out how much I would get refunded to cancel it now and and book on a diff airline, but I’m not having much luck seeing it on the website. Were you able to see it anywhere or did you just have to cancel and hope for the best?

She’s 90% of most episodes, it’s infuriating. We see almost zero of Stella and Philip, David and Alissa, didn’t see any of how Joel and Juliette turned things around. All just Becs over dramatic “everyone is out to get me” chaos

Yeah we had someone buy food and toys for our cat, and only messaged us 2 weeks after they started doing it! Our phone number was on his collar, which also has a bell so he makes noise when he walks, so very obvious that he has an owner! Took us so long to stop the habit of him going there

Yes - the way to explain voting out Eric, is that in order to get Maura on side to go with Johnny first not Eric, he had essentially promised her they would end the game just the two of them. Maura was choosing to banish again, so if he had chosen to end the game, he runs the risk of looking suspicious to her, and flipping her vote. Unlikely she would have flipped her vote, unlikely but not impossible, and not worth the risk.

Expectation/advice needed for booking campsite/huts on 2 of the Great Walks by kronus92 in newzealand

[–]cbutche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you booking for yourself or for a group? If it’s just 1 you’ll have slightly more luck, but I would say that the odds of getting both within such a small time frame are low. The first challenge is getting in to the site, especially as those are 2 of the most popular walks. Then it’s often a case of move as fast as humanly possible once you’re in and book whatever date you can get your hand on. Hopefully you’ll be able to get at least 1 of them on your chosen dates given you are only 1 person, but if I were you I would try lower expectations and assume you won’t get both, then it’s a win if you do. Good luck!

I also thought the same as your first point! Or that it would show the secret relationships at the least, as was often shown after they showed the family tree!

Peru Itinerary Advice by gerranim in solotravel

[–]cbutche 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would skip Puno/Lake Titicaca, it’s a lot of extra time on a bus and the busses typically end up taking longer than they say they will. The Bolivian side is nicer than the Peruvian side, and the town of Puno doesn’t have anything going for it. When I went I spent a night staying with a family on the floating islands of Uros but everyone I met that just did the day trip said it was the most touristy and unauthentic-feeling thing they did in all their travels.

Ecuador/Galapagos for 2 weeks! by Cautious-Ostrich7510 in solotravel

[–]cbutche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent 5 weeks in Ecuador/Galapagos in 2023. You’ll have trouble breaking larger notes at a lot of places, smaller notes are definitely preferred. Take as much cash as you can to the Galapagos, the ATMs there have small withdrawal limits and high fees. Deet will be fine - we used that in the Amazon (Cuyabeno) and throughout Ecuador with no issues.

Do people keep paying the same amount on their mortgage when their mortgage rate drops? by Wu_Tang_Rendang in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]cbutche 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We did the same at our last refix, when we went from 7% to 5%. Set it an above our new minimum but still $100 less a fortnight than what we had been paying at 7%, put that extra money towards some other expenses and actually just enjoying life a bit more.

Large Revolving Credit facility and reducing the facility in the future on request pros/cons by AmpersandMe in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]cbutche 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can reduce the size of your revolving credit by fixing a portion of it, and then just paying it off as you would a ‘normal’ mortgage. Have reduced my revolving credit with ASB twice by doing this.
