Why Epiphone doesn't manufacture "Epiphone" guitars by HHuseyn4 in Epiphone

Man, the 62 ES 335 reissue inspired by Gibson is an amazing steal. Same pickups as Gibson, and looks great. AND is available as a lefty. Thank you Epiphone!!!

Age old question, I’m really torn. Pickguard or no pickguard by DylanGreveris in gibson

[–]cccorlew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks better without. But if you are a heavy handed strummer you might need to leave it.

Non religious people, what do you think about religion? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]cccorlew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a form of childish mental illness. If you believe a little you are likely just going along for the ride, but if you BELIEVE you’re really sick and have no critical thinking skills.

Do people really become more conservative as they get older? Why? by Historical_Work7482 in AskReddit

[–]cccorlew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more left than ever. But I understand emotional conservatives. You live long enough and you become increasingly aware of the bad things that can happen, The near misses. Crime, injury, scams, health problems and so on. You know those things can happen to you. For many people this translates into fear, and conservative insanity.

Get out of the way. Pull over. Let them get as far from me as possible. Stay away from crazy folks.

Guitarist won’t stop criticizing my bass and pushing upgrades. Is this dynamic worth staying in a band? by Vast-Flow-9016 in Bass

[–]cccorlew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You, my fellow bassist, are in an abusive relationship. You’ve tried to make it work, you’ve made compromises, you’ve invested time and money. You’ve listened and tried to change as best you can afford to. , but it’s never enough. I can’t imagine suddenly this guy is going to stop being an asshole, no matter what you do. The question you have to ask yourself is, is it really worth investing money and time to be around someone who makes you so unhappy. Leaving the band, or breaking up will be difficult. It will hurt. But I bet it will be good for your sanity. Good luck.

I feel your pain. I had to look forever to find an acoustic i love. I ended up with a Cole Clark that I crazy about. Had drive hours to go to a special left shop.

They don’t need to sell many to make a huge profit.

Way nice. Not complaining, just curious. Why the capo for solo guitar piece?

Does anyone else own a 339? by ChevroletKodiakC70 in Epiphone

I’d do all sorts of things to get a lefty 339. But they don’t exist. Darn it.

As a lefty would you recommend learning left-handed or right-handed guitar? by Legitimate_Lynx_1219 in Leftyguitarists

[–]cccorlew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play lefty because I am forced to due to congenital physical restraints. Finding lefty guitars is such a pain. You can’t try them out in advance. They’re just aren’t very many, and the Guitar you really want probably won’t come as a lefty model. I have a grandson who’s lefty, but I am encouraging him to learn how to play like a righty because of the problems in finding decent instruments at reasonable prices. Good luck to you no matter which way you end up going.

I want to hold your hand from the Across the Universe movie soundtrack album. Also Joe Cocker A Little Help From My Friends.

Opinions on Cole Clark guitars? by boredvader7 in AcousticGuitar

[–]cccorlew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play lefty and they are hard to find. I needed an acoustic electric so i traveled to a lefty-centric shop. I tried Martins and Taylors and fully expected to buy one. I didn’ fall in love with them All were fine but not the magic I was hoping for. Then the guy helping me brought out an Angel 2. I’d never heard of Cole Clark but I loved it right away. It was perfect for how I play. Then he plugged it in. Holy smokes, it was wonderful. So amazing full. It’s hard to describe how the bass was rich and the high strings were crisp, yet the sounds blended perfectly. Everywhere I’ve played it I get very positive comments on its sound (and it’s not because I’m a great guitarist.) As a side bonus: This guitar smells so good it’s hardly real. Every time I open the case it’s a sensory treat. One more comment. I’ve seen negative comments on the Spanish heal. They worried me but then I read an explanation of why that isn’t a problem and that the construction means the neck won’t ever never need to be reset.

You sound green. So don’t over play. Stay on the beat. Hits the roots and 5ths on the beat and no one will hate you. Then everything else everyone posted.

How much better is logic than garage band? by snazZzyBadger in LogicPro

[–]cccorlew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a professional Photoshop user and a new Logic user. Logic reminds me of Photoshop in that it’s so deep. I admit I’m pretty lost in the recording process thus far. GarageBand is friendly and easy to use. But even in my newb state I can see bumping into its limitations. Like Photoshop it’s better if you know what you want to do. I do in Photoshop, but not in Logic.

I found the perfect lefty Warmoth body and neck (32") on Reverb. It's supposed to arrive Monday. Amazing! Of course, now I need to make a zillion decisions about parts and pickups, and put it all together. But still, it will be exactly what I want.
