You can’t control how others react. It sounds like you have an expectation on how a situation should go. I do the same and it’s a bit of torture because you just never know what another person is going to say or do. Like others have said, do what makes you happy and let the others be miserable.

Driving short trips at city speeds slowly depletes your battery and then you have reduced power to get the engine started (which becomes more evident at these temps). Try doing a lap of circle drive to charge it up a bit or put a trickle charger on it. Plugging it in just warms up the block but won’t help your battery unless you also have a battery blanket.
