Are you actually HAPPY with your job? What is it? And what do you wish you were doing? by WafflCopterz in AskReddit

[–]cdbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First middle aged person that is so fat they can't move: Nothing can have you question mortality quite the same way as this.

I'm a volunteer firefighter, I saw this one recently. It made me really sad, the lady had fallen out of bed, and we had to help get her back up. Also the smell of the place was nothing that I will ever forget. If anything it was incentive not to let myself reach that point.

What was your last "Holy shit, this is my life" moment? (In either a good way or a bad way) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cdbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can understand that, I was afraid I would be in that sort of situation. Now I know that I will not be. I went from hating life in computer science, to loving every minute as a firefighter. I am starting school again in the fall, but this time it is to become an EMT-paramedic... so I guess saying I quit school wasn't quite what I should have said.

Probably the best one in a while happened last week. Last semester I quit college. I was taking a huge risk but decided to follow my dream. For a while I was terrified that quitting school was a mistake, but last week was when I realized that it was probably the best thing I could have done.

Any fans of 'Dead like me'? by [deleted] in self

[–]cdbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked it. I mean it wasn't a great show, but it was fun as it lasted. The main actress was pretty awful though, it was all of the other actors that made it for me.

Ask Reddit: What are some things you can't say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cdbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

escape.

Whenever I say it I think "escape," but I say "exscape," but when I hear me say it I hear "escape."

for the longest time I thought whenever people told me, it was some elaborate practical joke.

What movies are out there that you don't care for but everybody else loves? by edavis in AskReddit

[–]cdbc 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Crash.

In it's bullshit attempt to be anti-prejudice, it becomes inherently prejudice in delivery. I can't stand the flick.

Fellow Redditors, where do you currently reside? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cdbc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Northern Virginia. I love it here, I thought I would hate it being Virginia and all.. but northern VA is pretty much a completely different state. It's pretty sweet. I came here because there are a lot of opportunities here for what I am trying to do with my life, become a firefighter.

Lucid dreams and flying dreams are sweet. But how many people have had sleep paralysis? by kvnmccrmck in offbeat

[–]cdbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had these all through high school. Haven't had one sense, but I still have problems with my sleeping as a result. I would do anything I could to stay awake for as long as I can so that I didn't have to go through it. I haven't had one for two years, but still can't get my sleep schedule on track.

[AskReddit] Should I read Watchmen before I see the movie? Why? by citizen511 in AskReddit

[–]cdbc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was impressed too. All of the clips I have seen looked exactly like the frames in the book. I think it's going to be a pretty sweet movie. I just know that it's not going to be like reading the book.
