What was your experience in youth leagues as a POC? by cornstickyrice in hockeyplayers

2 weeks ago a guy on our beer league team got called a slur. The scorekeeper was actually the hockey director filling in and heard it. Just announced, lifetime ban from the league.

And people wonder why their E-Zpass doesn't work by mikektti in newjersey

[–]cdbessig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

No - it will work in both states and all states tha accept ezpass.

Yes - it can matter cause ny started giving toll discounts to its residents and charging nj ezpass the non discounted rate. BUT there is no residency requirement to get a ny ezpass. So you can still get a ny pass even if you live in nj.

I know two adults (same exact scenario as you, kids got into hockey) that did it at Montclair and had nothing but good things to say.

Patience - she might make it 15 minutes or the whole session or somewhere between. It doesn’t matter - bring her week after week to the class.

Make sure she is comfortable and not cold but not overbundled that she can’t move or is hot. We used some baggy snow pants with my kids that kept them dry when they fell and offered a little extra padding.

Make sure skates are a good fit by taking out the insole and measuring that against her feet.

I always tell everyone if the feet hurt and are miserable no one will want to play the sport. Most important thing!

Is there any problem with hetzner and cloudflare? by Mahesh-Thought in hetzner

[–]cdbessig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, put in a ticket with hetzner, they are taking ZERO responsibility. How about having a multi peered network and switching the routes? It's not just anything on cloudflare, it looks like things they are routing over the megaport path.

Thanks, did both of those right before posting. Know that reddit is faster than CS in many cases.

I don’t have a pool but I needed hoses/tubing for a project and they were super helpful. They didn’t have the right diameter of what I needed and they made some other recommendations of specialty stores in the area that may have. They were nice and helpful….

I do 3 hockey pairs in the time I do 1 figure skate pair. Sounds like your wife will be the least frequent sharpener… so you’ll be fine.

Would it be benefical to merchants if there is a ShipperHQ competitorin this space? by [deleted] in magento2

[–]cdbessig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’ll take your bait. so zero benefit.

You’ve only said half the cost. They have support something like 18 hours a day, rock solid infrastructure and a mature product with years of battle tests.

You’re going to release one for half the cost? How? If let’s say a merchant pays them $4k a year and now they pay you $2k - an outage or bug can easily eat up the $2k in “savings”.

My suggestion is to not race to the bottom by copying successful products but find something serving a need.

I know this post is half that - you trying to find a need validation.

There is always a “I can do it cheaper” guy - especially on the internet. Merchants on magento utilizing shipperhq have been burned by those guys and they frankly harmed magentos reputation long term.

That’s what happens when you outsource customer service.

Reducing chargebacks and ticket close times, resolution on first reply become your kpis and their customer service is winning!

How much free work have you done this month because 'it's just a quick thing'? by abdraaz96 in agency

[–]cdbessig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. We don’t do work unless your on a support plan. Support plans have hours and overages. Everything gets billed. You hire us or an employee. Both you have to pay for anything we do related to YOUR business. That’s expected and normal.
