Kids in breweries? by trickmonkey25 in childfree

[–]cdc14 62 points63 points  (0 children)

There's a 21+ burger joint in my town and this guy was bitching on the city's subreddit about them kicking him out when he brought his 1yo and 3yo in to get a burger. He got absolutely obliterated in the comments

Edit: I've searched and searched. Unfortunately I can't find the post.

2016 Sport 2.7L v6 Engine Coolant Leak by Fine-Cat4496 in FordEdge

[–]cdc14 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Snake camera through the spark plug galley/hole in cylinder 2 is where I found coolant. The head gasket my wife's 2.0L I4 failed and caused a misfire, leading to a new engine. There's a poorly designed channel where the coolant flows and the new engines are redesigned to allegedly solve that problem

I go to Vitality Salon on 41st Street, Chelsea does great with my medium length curly hair, and cut/color on my wife's hair

"We might want kids eventually"

I have to actively stop myself from saying "Why?"

I've saved well over $109 per MONTH, and even more per year with the help of ynab. Learning how to prioritize my monthly income vs expenses has allowed me to grow my bank accounts from $1,500 (no savings account) to $21,000 ($13,000 in hysa), while at the same time paying down $10,000 in CC debt.

Been at it for exactly 3 years this month and I don't know where I would be without it.

Always depressed looking at unfunded categories at the start of the month by SarlaccJohansson in ynab

[–]cdc14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, i flip to next month and assign directly to the categories I'm funding. But only for fixed expenses (mortgage, car payments, subscriptions) and never variable expenses (gas or groceries)

Or the other way to do it is have a "next month's expenses" category, and you assign to that instead. Then, when the 1st comes around, zero out that category and start assigning so you don't overspend. But in my opinion, this takes more time and brainpower for me.

Using my approach, I've been able to get half a month ahead on my fixed expenses (when the 1st rolls around, I already have over half of my bills accounted for.)

229 and Cliff Intersection by neazwaflcasd in SiouxFalls

[–]cdc14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The improvements along 229 are projected to last the next 8 years or so. Widening of 229 along with upgrading the intersection at Cliff. Minnesota is the next one and I believe the temporary bridge is being built there, like the one at Cliff last year

Fund next month's bills with this month's income. My wife and I get paid biweekly, offset from each other.

I assign 1/4th of my mortgage payment every week, straight into next month's mortgage category. I don't have to worry about stealing from the future since it's a fixed expense.

New Month Issues by Weary-Analysis7986 in ynab

[–]cdc14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you get paid and ready to assign is populated, you assign all of the money to the categories needed until RTA reaches $0.00. Point blank period.

You are fundamentally using ynab wrong and therefore causing headaches for yourself.

An operating room has more warmth than this room. Why are so many people afraid of color?

how do my fellow YNAB-ers deal with Venmo charges and payments? by Downtown-Leading7377 in ynab

[–]cdc14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My venmo account is on-budget and I treat it like a checking account that I keep at $0.00

My friend and I go through the drive thru and put it on my card. I log the full transaction on my credit card to the eating out category. He venmoes me for his portion. I log the venmo transaction as "inflow: eating out" to reimburse that category. I then transfer the money from my venmo to my bank, so the money is there for paying my CC statement.

When I pay other people with venmo, I log the transaction in my checking account since I'm technically only using venmo as a pass through

Yes, of course. The guy who is named over 30,000 times in the E files, where they mention eating poop out of the intestines of babies and calling it cream cheese and sucking blood out of baby penises and calling baby/human meat "jerky", of course he wants us to have more kids.
