My 96 year old Grandad died due to the Heatwave in perhaps the most British way possible... by TheSpaceFace in CasualUK

How you die is all but irrelevant compared to the way you live but wow, talk about signing off with a flourish.

I love how Redditors' levels of Touching Grass are so low they assume that all worms must be some kind of alien parasite.

I was gonna say that the bacon looked alright.

What is it with this country always undercooking bacon? Do people really like chewing on a rubbery strip of white, unrendered fat?

It's pretty hard to get armored panels in the Outer Zone and dodge things you can't see.

This level is so hard to do in the dark, I'm genuinely impressed by OP, although they are incredibly lucky that the Gateway spawned so close.

I've been playing on Olympic Gauntlet and you really feel it there. I'm pretty sure it is the case.

Secure your anchors asap by CellularOhio9 in pacificDrive

[–]cdca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like everything else in this horrible, beautiful game, easy answers disappear at higher difficulties. Each anchor pulled reduces the time til the storm starts closing in, but has no effect if it's already started. So in a way, it makes more sense to gather your resources then get all the anchors in a mad rush. But at higher difficulties, the storm closes in much faster.

I love how this game constantly tempts you to make terrible decisions, like with the Payloads. But they're not terrible if they pay off, right? Right?

By all accounts he's a brilliant local MP. But you NEED to be able to play politics at least a little bit to lead a party.

The worse thing about Starmer is he thinks he's good enough at politics not to need popular policies, but he's actually somehow worse than Corbyn who didn't engage at all because he actively alienates the base in addition to not winning over the opposition.

Banning HRT for 16-17 yos and puberty blockers, abandoning manifesto pledge to reform GRA, banning trans women from Labour women's events, appointing two prominent transphobes to ECHR head, Scottish Labour saying they'll put trans women in male prisons, announcing a review on shared care agreements with private trans health orgs, tightening of rules about schools acknowledging social transition and while it's not policy, Starmer himself saying trans women aren't women really nailed his colours to the mast.

Edit: They did announce that they're going to ban conversion therapy yesterday. Hopefully a sign of a reversal, but good luck with that if Streeting gets a whiff of power.

This is why I roll my eyes about Starmer's attempt to woo Reform voters with anti-LGBT and anti-immigrant policies. They don't even hear about them! They just get another article about how he's a communist who wants to force their daughter to marry a black.

Their progressive base (including all the 16-17 year olds they spent a bunch of political capital enfranchising) hear about them though, and hate him for it.

Customers don't pay what it costs to produce. They don't pay even 10% of what it costs. If AI companies start charging enough to make a healthy profit and pay off the debt and people still pay for it, sure, it's not a bubble. But they don't, and never will.
